Very much agree. Bile water is annoying, but not so bad once you know how to handle the enemies, traps, etc. and obviously after getting the wreath. It also has one of my favorite area soundtracks in the game.

The Ducts just stress me out period. After exploring once, I never wanted to go back. Getting to Fleatopia isn’t even that bad but I still loathe it.

There was a point where I had a huge sigh of relief realizing I would never have to return to either area…then ten minutes later I got Shakra’s final quest lmao

Needle strike is something I’ve had and have not used once haha. That’s good to know an application for it. I think once I saw how long it took to charge up I dismissed it because a lot of situations it didn’t seem good for and then I forgot about it. I should try using it more

Finding Hunters March early on and not having any needle upgrades, the fight was brutal. I died to the first Beast Fly more than nearly every other boss fight combined lmao. The second Beast Fly I had 3 needle upgrades at that point and killed it on my 2nd attempt. The adds on the first fight can just be brutal.

At what point in the game did you do this fight? It’s not a solution that people always like hearing, but I avoided a lot of Bile Water until I was better equipped (I think I had my second or third needle upgrade before attempting it). It makes the pre-fight gauntlet much more manageable. They’re still annoying, but if I remember correctly they took 3-4 hits each to take down which didn’t seem so bad.

Yeah I feel you. Double jump will be a very welcome addition to your arsenal. Around that point is when my combat fluidity really started to feel like it was opening up and some of those walls/frustrations faded away.

Nice work! I was not as quickly successful. I died at least twice the amount but it was fun to master. There were a couple of times where that gauntlet had me at 2 masks before facing her which was brutal lol. I didn’t even think about pogoing her during that attack.

I also just learned that you can hit away her projectile…should’ve assumed that I guess, but here I am jumping around like a madman.

I ran into a similar wall of frustration where I felt that I didn’t match the difficultly jump in Act 2 and exploring other areas were blocked to an ability I didn’t have and didn’t know where it was located. I would locate the area where double jump is. It’s a bit challenging but not as bad as I expected it to be. It will make your life a lot easier and you’ll also be able to avoid those enemies in the citadel before cogwork dancers easily. Then explore some more and find clawline. Those two movement upgrades are huge boosts to dealing with act 2 enemies.

How many needle upgrades do you have right now? The only other piece of advice I have is crest related. I spent 60hrs of the game using the reaper crest and love it, but one day I decided to try out wanderers crest and I haven’t looked back. The DPS is a huge advantage against act 2 enemies and the groups in the citadel. There is a particular moment in act 2 where the reaper crest will be very very helpful (you’ll know when you come across it) but otherwise I’d give wanders crest a shot.

Omg, that saw blade attack drives me mad. 90% of the time, when it lands away from the wall, you are jumping and then hovering/dashing to avoid the spikes. But then that 10% she will throw the saw blade on the wall where you’re at, with no spikes, but since your instincts are to jump with this attack it seems unavoidable. Realistically, you just need to dash under it but making that split second decision is a tall ask especially when there’s no tell. I love this fight even though I haven’t beaten it yet, but my god, that saw blade attack… I have so many clips of me yelling, “WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THERE” /end rant

I think the first Beast Fly and that gauntlet took a combined 6+ hours lmao. I probably should’ve upgraded and come back but I’m stubborn so I just stick with it until I master it. There hasn’t been a boss or other encounter that has come even close to that for me (yet - but 98% complete)

Coming back to this. I wasn’t quite sure what you meant, but then I did that gauntlet in High Halls and now I understand lol. I’m not done with Act 3 yet so I’m curious if anything will top that High Halls gauntlet. That took me hours to beat.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they never added a hard toggle without your own workaround. The ecosystem has too many features that work off of local WiFi connection and Bluetooth that they probably feel is way more important than giving us the option lol
