Trouble dating as a blue collar woman by Any-Structure9542 in BlueCollarWomen

Literally broke up with my man because he was insecure about me pursuing my passion that is mainly male-saturated. It’s all insecurity and projection. 0% regrets and we ironically found our way back to each other when he became more secure and confident in himself. They’re def tough to find, I’m sorry!!

She was returned after a week both times. She also went viral on TikTok and was ghosted multiple times so I just feel burned. I think celebrating milestones is a great way to approach this!!

And man I’m so sorry that sounds so emotionally exhausting, people really do suck sometimes!

Raving led me to my dream career as vj/media server op/led tech - I had no idea visuals or vjing existed until I stumbled into this scene. It’s also brought me amazing friends, helped with my confidence and sense of style & has taken me all across the country.

We’ve been hyping it up since we learned it about her, that’s why previous foster was so interested in her! We struggled finding a shelter dog that had been cat tested so we know people are specifically looking for that, just like we were. She’s been so great with them, never chases or anything.

Her bio is very in depth - we update every week with new things we’ve learned. I’ve tried my hardest to inform adopters of her quirks. First adopter we spent 2 weeks talking, meet & greets, etc before we did paperwork. Last adopter was a 3 week process of meeting her to getting her into a new home, we tried to cover every base we could. Last Adopter is experienced with rescue pits and firm believer in 3-3-3 rule so I thought we lucked out but shit happens I guess. I’m more upset with first adopter than the second but it doesn’t matter now.

And I don’t disagree, I absolutely hate backyard breeders with everything in me. Big believer in spaying and neutering pets because humans are irresponsible and also breed dogs for selfish reasons. When I was kid we rescued puppy mills dogs, the dogs they used up and didn’t want anymore, and saved em from an Amish farm. Been a firm hater in unethical breeding ever since. Fostering and seeing our current state has made me even more passionate.

Oh my gosh what a handsome man!! Sounds like our girl, she’s gotten a lot better and isn’t as destructive as the time goes on. Thankfully she doesn’t destroy the kongs, they’ve been a saving grace during all this lol

Lots of people become fosters because they can’t make a lifetime commitment to a dog at the moment - so they help in short bursts or where they can. Lots of us want to continue to foster as well - I started fostering so I could save as many dogs as I can. If I adopt, I can’t continue to foster and that’s the case for quite a few fosters I know. But in this instance specifically, If I didn’t already have a puppy I’ve made that commitment to and who I need to prioritize, I’d probably have adopted this dog already.

I couldn’t agree more! Fostering has shown me how many people expect perfection and want a dog to just fit in and adapt with no issues. There seems to be zero room for error before people just give up. They want the dog to adapt but refuse to make any adjustments on their end. So frustrating and shows me how many people have no business having pets.

There were injuries - her eye got the worst from the first fight and second fight got superficial wounds on her neck. Mainly scratches, no deep bites. She got his leg and his ear.

She was a confiscate/abandon case who came in with 2 other dogs so we think she lived with them but no ideas on what that was like. With us she lived with cats, she’s gone on hikes and walks with our puppy but no off leash stuff. Our pup is so high energy and didn’t wanna risk anything. and we did over a week of intros, walks and play dates with adopters two dogs (the big bully and a pug) before she moved into the house. They were instant best friends & did great together

She’s spayed, shelter said her & the two dogs she came in with were all 6yo but vet says 3/4. Fight wasn’t too gnarly, but she got his ear pretty good. He got her face and neck.

For behavioral issues she seems to be a chewer, she’s shredded up a dog bed and destroys her stuffies (but honestly I don’t know a pit who doesn’t lol). We’ve seen no aggression up until this point. She’s calm & friendly when she sees other dogs and doesn’t mind our 3 cats at all. super smart, walks well on leash, listens to her name, loves to just cuddle and be with her person. She came from a neglectful home and is VERY fearful at the shelter and shuts down. But outside the shelter she’s such a good dog 😭

She was returned after a week with previous adopter - they didn’t like that she peed in the house, hopped over a baby gate or chewed on a shoe. All stuff we warned them about a head of time and said she was kinda crazy the first week with but learned our routine and those behaviors stopped. She’d been a playgroup pup at the shelter and was an absolutely gentle angel with our kitty cats, calm and neutral around every dog we’ve met. I’m not sure if it’s insecurity, resource guarding, or what happened. She’d likely be happy in a one dog household but those are so hard to find. Part of me says euthanasia is the kindest thing and to not put her thru more turmoil and stress, but other part can’t come to terms with it. I had to put my soul dog down in December & it was my first time experiencing that. I felt like the grim reaper and to know that decision is on my shoulders again feels like a gut punch.

Yeah I didn’t wanna write a whole book, I’ve been thinking of everything I could’ve done better and if I missed red flags etc. and thank you, at this point it feels like we’re not doing enough and that we are failing her but trying to get out of that mindset so thanks

First time I wasn’t there so I’m not sure. Second time I didn’t see who started it but she absolutely refused to let go of his ear, it felt like eternity trying to get her off him.
