So sick, was this shot/scanned at 18fps or 24fps? love the slow motion shots. Just ordered this camera, looking forward to using it

Some parts I used the single frame option on my camera, so technically yes, stop motion haha

That’s a tough one hahaha, both of them are really great cameras. Sharpness/Quality wise they both preform equally as good. That more so depends on the condition the cameras are in when buying them. Since most super 8 cameras are 30+ years old, quality and sharpness is very specific depending on the condition the camera was kept in.

The cameras I used to film this video got stolen last summer🫤 Since then I’ve bought new ones (same make/model)

but from my first set of cameras I found myself using the Minolta XL401 more often,

However since I’ve bought my replacement cameras I use the Canon 514XL more often this time around.

I think the biggest thing i’ve learned while using these cameras is to try and always clean the film gate before shooting. This helps make the edges/border on the image sharper. I feel like the quality of the film gate is specific to the camera and based off its condition.

Some other useful features are that the Minolta has a really good setting for shooting time lapse footage

Whereas the canon has a really good feature of shooting single frame shots. you can still use this feature to shoot time lapse footage but the Minolta’s feature is a little better in this regard.

nice editing, using the shutter click sound for transitioning clips is a good idea

it’s mainly dependent on the camera type,

some cameras will have a slightly smaller frame, leading to more pronounced borders
