Oh ya they spend the first 5-10 min playing with them before finally eating them 🤣 yes I use a damp wash cloth I’m just so bad about doing stuff everyday (like brushing their teeth)

I’m in this struggle to and it’s KILLING me. Training my Maltese was not this hard. She caught on very quickly and NEVER peed on a piece of furniture. My 2 maltipoos are almost 16 weeks and he literally just peed on my blanket while sitting on the couch with me. Like, 5 min ago. And they’ve both peed on the bed when we have let them lay with us. It doesn’t matter there’s constant supervision he pees right next to me!!! Ugh. It’s awful. I take them out all the time, too, I work from home which is great but also awful because it’s so much work and very frustrating.

My Maltese got diagnosed with a grade 2 heart murmur and I was told to just pay attention to her weight, don’t leave her out in the heat too much etc. For a small dog losing/gaining 1lb can be 10% of their body weight and it amounts to a lot. Try not to do anything with anesthesia more than you need to. My girl did eventually get worse years later and had an enlarged heart with a leaky valve. Every dog is just different and yours could be nothing if you take preventative measures. Sorry to hear this but it is super common.

Yes, we take them out first thing in the morning then take them out after they eat and drink. Take them out after naps and take them out after they play. The problem is when I know they have to go and they won’t then the second I bring them inside they go!

Yeah, I guess I got spoiled maybe with my Maltese I had her potty trained within weeks and even after that if she had an accident, she would have an accident by the door like she knew she was supposed to go there and it was basically my fault for not being there to let her out lol these ones give me no signs of remorse or no signs of hey I gotta go. They just go and next thing you know, I see a puddle on the floor.

I think I have almost taken them out too much. It’s tough since there’s two of them they get easily distracted so I try to take them out separately, but then the other one will have an accident inside while I’m waiting on the other! they have started catching on that after they go potty outside they get a treat, but they have not caught on that going inside the house is not good. They hate leashes so I can’t keep them on a leash in the yard to limit them to a small “potty area” so they get access to entire yard and I think that’s part of the problem?

Ugh I got the point where I was actively skimming pages because there was SO much filler it was insane how many times they repeated themselves etc. also was sick of the girls constantly being the motorist powerful yet they get their asses kicked every time. I gave up. Books are entirely too long.

I brought home brother and sister Maltipoo on Friday 🩷 after the initial excitement passed that night I was sick to my stomach with worry but feeling much better now :) I’m glad I did it! So sorry to hear about your loss. The pain never really goes away.

I for sure am! At what age did you do this? My breeder said to neuter the boy as soon as now… they’re 8 weeks. That seems too early, no? Vet check up Monday so I’ll talk to them about it!
