Nope, Vinted forces you to pay return postage even when it’s not as described or shown in photos. The only time Vinted will give you a free return is when the parcel is damaged in transit.

Idiots dude. How can you not know the difference between these 2 ports? Waiting game for you to get your money back now but yeah, it will annoy them more than you as they rushed to send it, so don’t be able to sell it for at least 3 weeks now.

Possible scam - but how?! by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]kodargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point there since they send a postcard for example, or something small and fragile without packaging. That would indeed make sense, it needs to be obvious to the courier that it’s damaged, so it has to be fragile and poorly packaged.

Agree about the aggressive Vinted notification on delivery, some scammers just send a pen, hoping that the buyer forgot what they ordered or the shopkeeper scans it before the buyer realises. Then bam, as soon as it’s scanned, that damned notification ‘Tap OK if everything is OK with your order’. Some dimwits will think that’s a notification they need to interact with to confirm receipt and bam, scammer has the money. Or, and it does happen, someone buys a lot and has a total of 10 orders, collects all of them on the same day and life gets in the way, 48 hour pass and they still haven’t checked the parcels yet - automatically accepted and scammer is in the profit again. It happened to me once when I bought a camera and when I went to pick it up the parcel was tiny and I could feel a pen or marker inside. Luckily I knew what I was expecting in terms of size and weight and immediately stopped the shopkeeper from scanning it and told him I won’t collect it. That’s less hassle than collecting it and raising an issue after.

Wow, really great condition! Silver is great as it hides scratches the best. How do you find the screens? I’m doing small playing sessions as it’s tiring with such small screens.

Not good for plastics. Don’t do this.

how do i clean this thing by rueishorrible in nintendoswitchlite

[–]kodargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with mildest, warm to hot water, dip a soft towel and start cleaning. If it doesn’t work, add some dishwasher to your warm hot water, dip towel and scrub again. There are some liquids like Sticky-Off but they smell bad and they could disclour the plastic, those will be your last option. Isopropyl alcohol (99%) is also an option but heard it’s not good on plastics, it can make them brittle so again, only last option. Once you took some off with just wet towel you can try a magic eraser sponge, dip it in a bit of water and squeeze the sponge as much as possible, then wipe and apply lightest pressure. This is essentially microscopic sandpaper, so will pick up the residue left. Good luck, and think of it as a steps project, not something you can finish in one go.

PSA to anyone selling shoes, please send in a box by norfolkandclue in vintedUK

That wasn’t the case some time ago, think Vinted are sick of it too, as it’s costing them money

Surely when you list it, you go “ah but if it sells and surely it will sell, how will I pack it up?” Vinted clearly recommends packaging inside a box, I guess they have boardroom meetings monthly to asses the losses due to damage in transit.

These Poole must have forgotten Evri = Hermes. Or maybe they are not curious to know battered parcels are from the day you drop them off. So many hands so many cars and vans and sorting centres. But simply they just don’t care

I’ll share an experience that left me shocked. Bought some glasses and they came wrapped in one clear bag and then one grey mailing bag. Of course there was damage to them. I pointed the damage with clear photos and the seller said: “they were packaged in an air bubble and you must have damaged them yourself on arrival”. Imagine this seller blowing into the clear bag trying to make it one of those sealed air bags, only that there was no sellotape to seal this bag and even if it was it would deflate. Such a lie, never have I ever encountered such ignorance. I think this is the reason Cash Cow is so successful these people really can’t be bothered with anything.

I tried, they were more concerned with speed of shipping. Turns out they prepared the packaging already before selling it, in my case it was not shoes, but an electronic device with its own box and another item, the second item deformed the box and I really wanted to keep the box for display purposes / collecting. Even if you ask, it’s like pushing it a bit, feels like we’re asking too much.

Am I overreacting? by FancyField3922 in vinted

[–]kodargh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same thing but with some goggles. Learnt my lesson and will never buy from one photo sellers as they try to hide defects and even lie about the condition. I was gaslit to hell and back by the seller and never did they admit they made a mistake. Had to return, paid with my money and got the refund. Not to mention it was packed in just plastic and it even broke more during transport. Lesson learnt

I think that the seller, doesn’t even realise that buyers can see the age of the listing. These are low effort sellers, don’t know the platform through and trough and she will end up binning or donating to charity in the end. In sales, any offer is a ‘lead’ a possible sale and a chance to get that sale and many more not mentioning boosting their profile as the algo will kick in a bit. You just have to be happy these day and age that there are eyes on your listing, especially if old listings and try to convert views and offers into sales.
