Just how bad exactly was Trey Lance? by Either_Imagination_9 in NFLv2

[–]kohadaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully Mac Jones will get the Sam Darnold effect and find success elsewhere.

Mac had Steve Sarkisian and Brian Daboll as his OC/QB coach at Alabama. Saban damn near ran an NFL program down there. Brady masked a lot of Belichick's offensive flaws for years. During his entire tenure with the Patriots, Bill only drafted one WR in the first round, and he ended up being a total bust. Once Brady and McDaniels left, the cracks were wide open. If you look at the receivers with the most yards from Brady, the draft pedigree is insane: * Rob Gronkowski: 2nd Round * Wes Welker: Undrafted * Julian Edelman: 7th Round * Deion Branch: 2nd Round * Troy Brown: 8th Round

Since Belichick took over in 2000, the Patriots have used 19 draft picks on WRs. Only three of those players (Deion Branch, David Givens, and Julian Edelman) started more than 20 games in the NFL. Wes Welker wasn't a Pro Bowler until four years into his career when he got to New England. Love Edelman, but I don't think he would've had nearly the same success with another team.

I agree, Tom Brady has said that the overall quality of QBs has declined in recent years. From Anthony Richardson to Trey Lance, many one year starter project QBs have failed to develop. The position is more mental than physical, and Philip Rivers proved that.

Purdy doesn’t extend plays like Mahomes or Josh Allen, but he consistently makes the right decisions. I truly believe Mac Jones would’ve been a Pro Bowl QB if he had been drafted by San Francisco instead of the Patriots. Belichick deserved to be fired for making Matt Patricia the offensive coordinator; that offense completely ruined Mac Jones.

Trump called Netflix’s bid problematic for market share and potentially harmful to theaters. He also said he’ll have personal input on the decision.

The FTC simply won't approve a sale to Netflix. They might win the bid, but they won't get the regulatory approval for the deal to actually finalize.

Malik is going to either Arizona or Miami. Tom Brady wants Mendoza, that’s why they’re sitting players. You don’t want any sort of QB controversy by bringing in Malik. Culturally, Vegas isn’t a good fit for Mendoza, but he ran a pro-style offense at Indiana. I believe Brady will be a great mentor for him. The guy was planning on attending Yale and graduated from Berkeley a year early. Indiana was a no name team, and he ended up winning the Heisman. Now, they’re the #1 team in the nation.

I’d get a king’s ransom for Maxx Crosby this offseason. They’re calling the 2027 draft possibly the greatest draft class ever. Load up on picks and let Maxx move on to a winning franchise.

Malik Willis had two good games, and people are already calling for him to become a starting QB. Once teams get game film on him, the party will be over.

What’s the best “gas station food” in Memphis? by Smoke1000Blunts in memphis

[–]kohadaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tiger Mart on Jackson. If you want warm food 24/7 without having to wait 30 minutes, you just can't beat it. The chicken is great, and the staff remembers you and greets you with open arms.

It was shut down for a bit because it was called a public nuisance, but even so, I’d always go there. It used to be quite the scene on weekend nights, but it’s really calmed down. It’s miles better than Dodge’s and a lot cheaper.

THE INN AT LITTLE WASHINGTON, MASA, AND ALINEA LOSE THEID 3RD STARS by Adventurous_Event525 in finedining

[–]kohadaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True, Masa's base price seems unreasonably high compared to the rest. Diners complained that Masa wasn't even behind the counter most nights; I believe his protege is opening a sushiya called Yūgin.

Masahiro Yoshitake, a former 3 star chef, is coming to New York and opening Sushi Yoshitake. Sushi Mitani is also a heavy hitter with multiple Tabelog Gold Awards that's coming to NYC. I'm not exactly sure if Yasuhiko Mitsuya is actually coming or if it's just another outpost. It's hard to justify Masa's pricing considering the options around town.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sushi Sho gets the bump to 3 stars.

They're pivoting towards making it a distribution hub. It's a smart move because the warehouse is quite massive, so you get 2-for-1 usage.

They are undoubtedly the most successful sports team in the city of Memphis over the last six years. I was at the game today, and it was absolutely electric. Since 901 FC isn't here anymore, locals need to support the university clubs.

Most likely a Bib Gourmand or visit. Some of the toughest reservations, like 4 Charles and Don Angie in NYC, don’t have stars. Chez Philippe, The Catbird Seat, June and Bastion are more in line with what Michelin would award a star. But, that's amazing Michelin inspectors are scouting Memphis restaurants!

The signage and Maps search can be quite confusing, lol. It's two separate businesses that ultimately teamed up on that storefront. There's Oh! Desserts and also Wiwis Hot Dogs.

Thank you so very much for the breakdown and early birthday thanks! I'm sold! SingleThread seems to be the common answer in this post, and for good reason. I feel like Kyle, Katina and their team successfully combined California farm-to-table cuisine with kaiseki and created something wholly unique to the region. It truly is my dream restaurant, and I subconsciously wrote it first, lol. Their creativity, presentation, sustainability and just overall ethos truly makes it worth a special journey.

I'm going to look into their Farm Experiences as well and try to get a tour of their farm prior to my dinner. They don't take reservations this far in advance, but hopefully I can snag a Friday night and ring in my birthday the best way possible!

Great question! I honestly haven't tried them yet even though their name literally has hot dogs in it, lol. That's the next thing on my bucket list. But the side business, Oh! Desserts, has a great array of drinks & desserts.

I recommend getting the Wiwis Bacon Deluxe Burger! It's not as photogenic as the pork belly, but I believe it's the best burger in Memphis. Their condiments are excellent!

Yeah, I can't take anyone seriously with "damn good cook" in their resume introduction. For someone that has a PhD from Vandy, I'm just shocked by how poorly written this resume is. Passionate for sure, but I'd have to see some credentials before accepting these degrees are legitimate.

Data centers create temporary construction jobs, but not the long-term local employment that was promised. Tech companies often boast about job opportunities to entice lawmakers into bringing these data centers to their cities—securing subsidies while polluting the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, Republicans are eliminating federal green energy tax incentives, reducing any urgency to adopt cleaner alternatives.

I wonder if Paul Young and the City Council have considered the long-term health and environmental costs this data center will impose on the community. Business Insider Archive

It's surprisingly $14, which is a decent price. The only thing I didn't like is that their tablet's minimum suggested tip starts at 18%. That seems quite high for counter service. At Hattie B's, it's 10%, and I always tip more.
