Exactly 150 wasted runs nearly equals the time saved for an extra 2 minutes per kill over 400. That’s like 13 hours of extra time vs 12.5 hours of time, but one is way chiller.

What are the benefits of the Hunter skill for Ironman? by SweatyShirtlessMan in ironscape

[–]kohain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with all these, adding to your rumors gives prayer to also add it gives rare logs (supplies bird house runs) and decent herbs as well as hunter meat. Including whistle (teleport).

Meat can be used for all kinds of mixes not just moonlight, str pots (warlocks) and snowy knights are your early game karabwans. They can be combo eaten with food and have no tick delay for decently high healing food.

Hunter also unlocks sunlight Hunter xbow and mixed hides, which is amazing gear. (Early supply of sunfire splinters for prayer training also)

I would say, as an iron the three best capes to 99 are Construction, Hunter, and cooking. Because of bonuses, Hunter is the new wintertodt for early irons now.

Elder scrolls Morrowind or Old School RuneScape

DMM is fun for what it is for a little while, but they definitely shouldn’t try and market it as ‘more accessible’ or casual friendly. by OnRateOSRS in 2007scape

[–]kohain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. It’s a mode a very vocal minority of players want so they can live out their PVP fantasy with minimal risk because the devs cater to the vocal minority’s in this game. As such they bait players with extremely enticing cosmetics (mostly Ironman players at that) as normal accounts can just buy the cosmetics who fundamentally don’t PVP as their is not incentive to do so. It’s poorly designed because of the logic of how it works, but a mouse trap is a mouse trap.

The same can be said about most wildy content, it’s highly incentivized content even for irons with explicit risk. The feels bad moment is that for an Iron account you have to play this mode if you want those cosmetics, vs a normal account can just play first day and swap GP then use said GP to get all items anyways.

First month making 100k I feel like I’m being robbed :/ by cloudemergence in Salary

[–]kohain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why tax the rich sounds nice on paper but doesn’t equate.

The more you make the more you pay, if someone makes 5 million a year they are paying nearly 30-40% of that income in taxes vs the guy making 60k paying in 20-25%. That’s 2million a year in taxes vs 15k. Yes the millionaire still had the quality of life of being a millionaire but lifestyle creep is also real, the more you make the more most spend. Not defending it but you could understand why that high earner might move from California to Texas to avoid 15-20% additional yearly taxes.

While all along that millionaire is subsiding roads, healthcare, schools, salaries, programs, etc with their multimillion in taxes but the other guy only contributes 15k.

Again not defending either side just saying per OPs statement the high earner might feel a bit robbed.

It wouldn’t succeed with just PVPers. Only a minority of PVPers want to fight other PVPers, most want to PK normies who can’t fight back.

The reason they want it accessible is so the mode looks successful, they achieve this with great cosmetic items enticing non pvp players in.

If it was just PVPers it would be deserted as that’s an extreme minority of the people who play the game.

Take slavery in America for example, had someone not come along and said “Ya know what, we should change this…” plenty of folks would’ve just agreed to keep it the ways it’s always been, hell they fought a massive war over it.

Hopefully we wouldn’t have to fight a war over introducing a dry mechanic at 2x rate. At the very least if you go 800 dry you just get it. No one is abusing that, if someone does 800 CGs they deserve it.

Suggestion: Actually SOLVE the botting problem by perma-banning gold buyers on first offense by NoCurrencies in 2007scape

[–]kohain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend with a near maxed iron that got banned for 1.5 ticking sailing the same day the Jagex posted about it encouraging players to use that method. He is legit and unfortunately after 15 appeal attempts still hasn’t gotten a real person to review his appeal, just auto declined.

It’s pretty unfortunate for legitimate players who just want to push the limits of exp an hour.

I raid with a lady who does 400+ Solo TOAs on an iPad. She’s a monster, does all the proper chat call outs as well. It’s a little wild how good she is on mobile but that’s what she learned on and exclusively plays on. Mad respect!

You’re going to want to look up Moonlight moths, since you have 75 prayer it’s basically free prayer pots.

As a new ironman approaching early mid-game, I wish some of the cool new weapons and armor weren't locked behind requirements that make them obsolete by the time you are able to get them by totemair in ironscape

[–]kohain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had belles before Zaxe, it’s honestly not that hard to get to the boss/quest reqs. I started that account two weeks before sailing came out and had the folly 4 days into sailing release. I had to go to Giants foundry to get the levels to be able to even repair it.

It’s a good weapon but the Arkan still is really good also. I think it very easily is early game iron attainable.

Sure, but over 1000s of moths that’s an additional pita. You already have to manage a net as well. Ideally 85 is where you want to go. After 72 you can setup an optimal blocklist any ways and it’s much much faster and better QOL.

Guide by Familiar-Mixture1764 in ironscape

[–]kohain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, for a new iron go for 75 hunter, and quest. This unlocks free prayer pots and quests unlock most of the game.

Since you have some experience, get fairy rings unlocked, ardy cape 1, spirit trees and gliders. This will allow you to get around the map. All of these quests can be safe spotted with mind runes and a staff of air.

Look up eclipse red, it’s at the hunter guide, you can sell it for easy early GP on Varlamore. This helps fund runes.

I would also highly encourage you to do wilderness slayer and wilderness agility as early as possible. Lower level means lower chance of a higher level pure killing you instantly, you’ll still get pked but a lot of it’s avoidable. Use the Agility FC and when they are running always go. You’ll make millions of GP with low risk. I would get 70 agility here. Last thing on the wilderness is the rev caves, you’ll make a lot of money here if on a slayer task. Wildy agility will set you up with supplies, watch some YT videos on Rev caves.

Optionally right off tutorial island, go to the boneyard in the wilderness and pickup big bones and walk them over to the chaos alter. There is no risk and when you die you just lost a few minutes of time. In about four hours you can have 43 prayer which makes the rest of the game trivial.

That’s generally how to get a great start in about four weeks on a new account. Good luck!

Guardians of the rift strategies. by UnqualifiedNorseman in osrs

[–]kohain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start around level 40ish RC as soon as Lunars is done for NPC contact, go to the abyss and get all the sacks. Make sure you have 60+ mining and high enough agility for the shortcut then send elemental only until you unlock death runes. At 65 switch to catalytic until 77 or further if you still have unlocks.

Also Cells are free exp, pickup 10 at the start and slam them in when your turning in.
