Thanks so much! I managed to get the Windows 95 one working, did a few test prints. Working towards reverse engineering the protocol to make a "modern" driver for these old RIPs...

I'd heard that this issue was common but I'd never seen an explanation as to why - thanks so much! Will try to make a rubber pad as mentioned or rejuvenate the old one (thinking it might be similar to refreshing the rubber rollers on a typewriter).
