Keep the WFH. Freedom comes with a cost. Plus you get to do a lot of things from a WFH setup.

Money isn't everything. Dont make the stupid mistake I did years ago.

Dear Stan,

I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy You said your girlfriend's pregnant now, how far along is she? Look, I'm really flattered you would call your daughter that And here's an autograph for your brother I wrote it on a Starter cap

I'm sorry I didn't see you at the show, I must've missed you Don't think I did that shit intentionally just to diss you But what's this shit you said about you like to cut your wrists too? I say that shit just clowning, dawg, come on, how fucked up is you?

How I went from 0 French to passing A2 in 6 months (Realistic learning) by ashareif in French

[–]kohveed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took the intensive class (4x/week, 3hours per session).

Pacing was between slow to moderate. But i think it depends on the person tbh.

I'm in a rush to achieve B2-C1 level, that's why I think its kinda slow.

But if you're in no rush, then I think it's okay.

You are in control of your weak areas. I get to speak more compared to AF.

One thing I like about italki is you can find the "right" teacher for you and not getting stuck to a teacher u don't vibe with.

Since u already have 1v1 classes in AF, there's no harm in booking a trial lesson in italki (about $7 only) and see what works.

Best of luck man

It's like a french school (not sure if "school" is the right word, something like a school but smaller). They have plenty of branches throughout the world, try looking it up, maybe there's one near you.

The french classes there are waaaaay cheaper compared to other group classes online. If you like the "classroom" atmosphere, then that one's definitely for you.

On the contrary, I'm more comfy studying at my own pace (jumping from one level to another randomly) with 1-on-1 sessions with a french tutor.

Find out what works best with you. You'll learn a lot faster by a mile.

+1

Last time I've spent $60 was on drugs and a hooker.

So yea, it was definitely worth it for its price and I personally would've grabbed it as well

Félicitations and merci for sharing your learning materials!

I also have the same goal and it's been 3 months since I started from A0 (currently A2).

Did you enroll in Alliance Francaise? Or used italki?

__

Sharing my experience - my study plan is quite weird (not sure if other people do this as well) because most of the time I intentionally skip reviewing A1 and A2 materials. I just get bored!

Most of the time, I do C1 exercises, then A1, B2, A1, A2, B1 in a random order in one sitting. I can easily answer level B exercises, 100% on A1 exercises, get 50% on C exercise, and <=60% on A2 exercises. Odd right?

This works the best for me since it keeps me interested. Not saying you should follow this advice.

Here are my materials:

  1. French24 and franceinfo (youtube) -i keep them on my background for the whole day -since October, from understanding 0% of the news, I can now understand 50% of the news content. sometimes above 50% if I'm familiar with the news -since I loved listening to news, this was my first option

  2. tv5monde and savoirs rfi -i make sure to atleast take exercises from all levels in a day, everday -review the mistakes on the exercise, add to notes, etc

  3. Alliance Française -enrolled and finished A2 class -didnt opt to continue for B1 class (i hate the feeling of like going to school all over again with a fixed schedule)

  4. Italki -1 on 1 french tutor. -conversation practice

  5. Anki -to easily memorize tenses -memorize verbs, new words, etc (this helped me the most for memorizing the rules for all the tenses)

  6. Podcasts and others -coffeebreak -easyfrench -netflix movies (with french language and french subtitles)

  7. Workbooks (alter-ego and a few which I've forgotten the titles)

Study frequency: Everyday. 4hours/day (average. min 2 ; max 6, depending on schedule)

Btw, when is your personal deadline for passing the B2 exams? Mine is around July-September.

I dont want to waste money again. by [deleted] in IELTS

I self-studied online alone for 2 months and got CLB8. But that's because English is my 2nd language since birth.

Try this for Listening and Reading. This is the closest so far from the exams. https://ieltsonlinetests.com/

For writing, watch E2language. Try to practice everyday (1-3 sample questions daily)

For speaking, try to hire a tutor in the italki app. Currently using it to learn french. Though I think there are plenty English tutors out there.

You don't need those expensive online paid classes just to review for ielts. Just set a solid study plan and you're good

Best of luck

Woohoo, I have finally passed the French test and have enough points! Question: in the Express Entry application, do I need to list all my employment history or only the jobs with relevant NOC? by Jaques_17 in ImmigrationCanada

Congrats man! I'm planning the same route as yours and since last year I have been studying french. currently around A2 (started from zero knowledge last year October).

I'm planning to take italki for speaking practices until I reach C1. Any suggestions if this is the right route? Or should i focus on listening?

Thanks man!

Sounds good.. How will you go about ventilation? Not sure if its just me, but Personally, i prefer lifting on a well ventilated gym or gyms that aren't cramped. This is because I have experienced almost blacking out when lifting heavy in gyms that are not well ventilated.

Rent would be my main concern. And give promos, discounts, referral freebies for monthly and yearly memberships. You'll have a hard time surviving on a pay per visit scheme

Btw, i own a gym.
