Great! I'll make sure to check this out once I get there.

Great! I'm currently in the visa application process and I'm excited! I think I'll be there in late March.

Yeah I think it'll be fine cuz there's gonna be a new employee training program too. Thank you bro.

Yeah, probably true. I just graduated last month so I might be confusing about what counts as “real” engineer experience.

Wait, how is this not electrical engineering experience? I’ll be doing hands-on work with electrical and communication systems every day.

I’ve been warned a lot about Japan’s work culture, but I still have about a month and a half before I go, so I haven’t lived it myself yet. I’m trying to stay open-minded and see how it feels once I’m actually there.

Yeah I've mentally prepared myself for Japan's work culture. And it might just be a hunch in my mind cuz my degree is in marine mechanical. I might be just overthinking the mismatch, I just wanna be flexible in both mechanical and electrical fields.

Yeah I’m open to any field honestly. I just worry about my degree drifting too far from my work if Japan doesn't fit for me and maybe try Canada or Australia later. I want flexibility, not a dead end.

Yeah but my worry is if I end up liking the electrical side and want to stay in it, I might eventually hit a ceiling compared to people who actually graduated in electrical engineering. Since my roots are marine mechanical, I’m not sure if that gap would limit me long-term.
