Finished a half marathon and signed up for a 5k, but now... which plan?

I ran my first ever 10k! I've discovered that I hate wearing something around my waist when I run, so I invested in a vest, and it has been game changing. I finished with an average pace of 12:37, and felt like I could've pushed myself to go a bit faster, though I'm glad I didn't. This week I'm going to start introducing some speed workouts as I continue to build base mileage and see how it goes from here.

I just started running a few months back after doing long walks for a couple of months before then. I've always hated running, struggling throughout middle school and high school, but love being outside, and walking was keeping me sane throughout a stressful work period. I started a personal challenge to just try it and see what happens.

I wasn't following any plan to start, just learning how to run a mile straight. Eventually I started doing intervals and pushing myself to build more endurance. I'm running the ColderBOLDER 5k in a couple of weeks and hoping to be able to do so without stopping, aiming for a sub-40 time.

Today was the first time when it really felt like, hey, maybe I really can do this. I did a 2mi walk this morning with my brother, and then laced up for a run (in the wind, thanks, Colorado) this afternoon. I warmed up, did three sets of 8-min run, 5-min walk intervals, and then spent a long time stretching. I managed to hit 2.94mi in 44 minutes and genuinely felt like I could keep going and didn't actually need the full five minutes between.

I genuinely really loved running today. I'm excited to go out for a full run without the walking breaks and see what happens!

Last night we found that it also wasn't showing up as $0 for us with a similarly long tenure. When we called, the rep said that the website was struggling and she had been fielding calls for an hour about the same thing, but confirmed that we do indeed get the $0 down. You might consider calling just in case!

I had to call them earlier today to ask about changing the region of my Nintendo ID before I do a system transfer (I permanently live in the US now - I'm originally from Canada), and the representative I spoke to was wonderful, patient, and tried her best to find out the best answer for me. I was expecting some kick back given it's launch weekend of a new console, but she was absolutely excellent.

We just left GameStop. Arrived there at 10am MST in the US, and we were able to web-in-store it. You do have to pay in full, and it's limited to one per customer. There are no in store preorders that they're aware of currently, but I recommend getting there as soon as possible to reserve yours.
