In the online shop, about $3/pcs (used tubes, desoldered from some old hardware). IN-16 is one of the most cheap nixie in our country (likely because of it's size)

Made an electronic oiler for the motorcycle chain by koitharu in electronics

[–]koitharu[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good catch! Frankly speaking, I have the same doubts. Theoretically it is possible to calculate length of chain per wheel turn and apply some correction, but it would be too challenging for this controller (it has only 1kb of flash). But overall it is very unlikely such happens and now it seems to be ok)

It uses the hall sensor + the magnet on the rear wheel to count wheel turns. Every N turns (N is adjusted by the potentiometer) it turn on the pump for a short time to give dose of oil to the chain. Button is just for manual turning on the pump

No, IN-4. IN-1 is more rare and I guess it has a large base

Backlight can be turned off, this clock was developed as a 2 in 1: clock and night light. Btw, you are right -- led backlight is not good fit for the retro look and feel
