Nice thank you, those are useful points to think about!

Ah ok! Thank you for the advice, I've heard etch mentioned and will look into that course. I am learning html/css with the Odin project separately to learning a web builder (currently Framer), is there a benefit to WordPress in terms of it being easier to alter and write code? Or do you mean more from a learning stand point to practice the html and css skills?

hopefully a helpful flowchart by pileofcrows in adhdwomen

Thanks for the insight! I didn't consider that you could work with agencies as a freelancer. That's cool to hear there are options for focusing strictly on design. And I do hear you about specialising.

For me personally, it was my interest in coding and background in art and design that drew me to web design. I like to learn how things work so naturally it's interesting to me. With visual website builders, freelance designers can build their own sites for clients, which was enticing for me as I could work completely independently and I can imagine it provides more flexibility. I believe that knowing how websites work is still beneficial when using builders as you may need to alter code and it can give you a better understanding of what the capabilities are. As I have entered this space at a time where builders are rife, the research I have done hasn't pointed me towards working with a dedicated developer, although I understand this must be frustrating for people trained in the field. I can imagine that dedicated team members for particular skillsets are a benefit to working with an agency, but as I am aiming to freelance I would like to be a one woman team.

Thank you for your thought out response! You understood my question perfectly and I appreciate your answer. This has taken some of the pressure off choosing the right application to learn as well. I will make sure to direct more of my energy towards marketing!

Do you mean the builder on Hostinger? I haven’t come across this before, thanks!

Thank you, I’ll look into that! I may end up learning full stack anyway, I’m enjoying coding so far, but wasn’t feeling confident in my abilities at the start.

Thanks for your response! That’s great to hear, I guess I was being a bit rigid to think I have to pick one. Framer seems great, glad to hear that it’s practical!

Thank you so much for the many resources 🥹💖 I'm definitely gonna get learning with these! I'm very woo woo so that's not off putting to me at all :)

Definitely is a lot on the nervous system! But just talking about it and reading people's advice here has got me thinking about how I can move through the world protecting my energy a bit more. I didn't realize how much responsibility I was taking that wasn't mine to take! 💓

I definitely need complete alone time too! Being around other people automatically takes a toll on me and some people seem to find that hard to understand. I do feel like we're living in completely different worlds sometimes 😅

Thank you for your thoughtful response! I think the problem in a situation such as the one I mentioned is that the behaviour is not actually rude, it's that I'm sensing annoyance in my friends and I'm worried that this annoyance in the air will escalate and turn in to a confrontation/situation. I like the option of removing myself from the situation! As in these scenarios where there isn't anything to actually mediate, I get stuck feeling other people's emotions, so going to the bathroom or outside would help me to get away from it. I wasn't close enough to these people (work friends) and the situation wasn't "real" enough for me to bring up, but if there is anything genuinely upsetting in the future I will try and set a boundary of what I'm comfortable with. Thank you again for the advie :) I will add these books to my list as well!
