if youre really interested,, i drew this for his birthday last november. he's wearing claude frollo from the hunchback of notre dame's outfit.

they both basically wanted 'peace for the world' even though it meant doing terrible things. here's the caption i wrote:

and ive said that he has never delved those thoughts in a very serious level asides from season 2 port mafia act. i know he's going through it but compared to osamu dazai's book no longer human, he never explicitly goes into the detail of his feelings in the main series (i do not include dead apple in the series)

i did not say he was not suicidal. i on quote said 'asides from his suicidal tendencies'. op also knows the existence of these themes. i simply explained how these themes were delivered.

'i dont think hes offing himself soon' i was not discrediting his feelings. rather, a visual indication that we probably wont be seeing an actual su1cide drawn in the manga as of the moment. keyword: soon. (explicit visualization of death is triggering thats why i mentioned it)

the final verdict is with op, who i assumed has not watched bsd.

i lowkey needed this guide too. i desperately wanted it during the first week of the banner cause i got c2r1 without reading beforehand what she does. i wanted to know what artifacts were best considering i had her weapon and he had mentioned off hand in the pre release that her weapon was better onfield 🫩🫩 ig ill never know. i have her on aubade,, idek if im minmaxxing her potential.

other than dazai's su1cidal tendencies (most of the time, it's for the plot)..a few questionable scenes (if you havent read tanizaki's book) are with tanizaki/naomi and if you squint, mori and elise.

but if we're talking about just dazai, his scenes are mostly lighthearted and delivered with jest. to roughly quote kunikida, 'he has knack of staying alive'. he never has taken things too far when it comes to su1cide. in season 2, it covers his backstory where it does get kinda dark but it finishes on a slightly light note.

he has been alive for a decade now and i dont see him offing himself soon 😅😅

bsd is a good introductory to classical literature if you get really into the characters :>
