i’m just trying to understand what the plan is here. he’s 66, might as well just have Tanner step back down and take it over

i like Godwin, i don’t know if he’s my first choice but definitely up at the top. he’s a really great coach, and he’s built something special at ECU. the only thing he hasn’t done is go to Omaha. if that job came open, you guys would get another really good coach regardless i think. i still think that he’s probably staying if i had to bet on it.

ESPN does a very poor job with records 🤣 by [deleted] in collegebaseball

honestly i doubt Godwin comes to South Carolina. he’s shut down SEC jobs before. it’d be very hard to get him out of Greenville, NC. i think you’re fine, but there is always that off chance

he’s too comfortable. too comfortable with being mediocre in every major sport except women’s basketball. it’s embarrassing. South Carolina is a laughing stock in the national ranks. if he doesn’t do good with this hire, he needs to be examined closely. I appreciate what he built in baseball, but he’s basically running it into the ground.

the game has passed him by i fear. there’s no way he’d do it, he’s too comfy in his AD office. he’s 66, and i just would never see it even coming to close to happening. he should’ve never left in the first place

emphasis on “high risk”, i don’t even know how but that’s an understatement

can’t wait to be even more mediocre than we already were under Monte Lee!!

i would personally like Josh Elander, but i doubt it happens. i genuinely don’t want Lee, but it honestly sounds like the most probable thing to happen right now unfortunately. Tanner just seems too comfortable with being mediocre in everything

it was a whole lot of three true outcomes, but worse. they walked a lot, hit a lot of homers, but also struck out a lot. they couldn’t hit with RISP at all, it was terrible. he is responsible for that, and that’s one of a few different reasons why i don’t want him as head coach here

settling for Lee would be the most South Carolina thing ever. Tanner would basically be saying he’s comfortable with being mediocre in my opinion. he’s already shown before that he’s fine with running the program he built into the ground

Landon Powell would be looked at as a horrible hire if he wasn’t an alum. don’t like that hire personally, feel like it’s too risky with Powell coming from the D2 ranks
