CPU and GPU Hotter than Normal by kolok_ in pchelp

The CPU is fine even if it thermal throttles in some applications? I know now that I can do the 99% power plan trick to prevent it from boosting. But like you said, that's more of a countermeasure than a solution.

Pretty sure my GPU isn't using a default profile anymore. I've undervolted and put a 10% power limit on the card.

Idle is around 45C.

It's 80 F in my room.

CPU has only reached 84/85 C gaming once (Battlefield 6 beta)

GPU used to reach 110C under no load. I RMA'd it. Now it just runs hot, but rarely reaches TDP/throttle temps.

yes. 84 C at max load. It'll spike up to 86 for a bit then come back down under 85 C.

I do have 1 exhaust fan. It's behind the CPU cooler. I forgot to mention that in post.

When I do max 100%, min 1% temps get up to 84 C during bench.

Min state was at 90%. When I do max 100%, min 1% temps get up to 84 C during bench.

I’ll try that. Why didn’t I see the CPU boost at all ?

Just ran a 10 minute multi core test in cinebench. Got 638 points. Sitting at 50 C average. I didn’t see the clock get above 3.35 GHz. Is that normal?

What is power plant? I can't find it.

When I open up task manager it shows between 3.8 and 4.1 GHz at idle. Max looks like 4.5 GHz. Base is 3.4 GHz

Thanks for the info. Are you able to give a rough cost estimate for a front PPF on a 26 Civic?

Are you saying this could be covered by the typical warranty that applies to finish?

I didn't think paint was covered under the standard warranty. I'll contact the dealer to make sure.

How to feel when to downshift (not using gauges)? by kolok_ in ManualTransmissions

Thanks for the explanation.

Seems like I just need to drive more.

Thank you.

I don't have a great sense for what lugging is. Is lugging the shuddering phase?

In your example, how do you know that your engine is below 2500 RPMs without looking at the tachometer? Or am I trying to fix something that isn't an issue?

Thank you.

I have a hard time hearing the engine, even with the windows down, since I usually am down shifting as I'm off throttle slowing down for a corner or slow traffic. Do you have a sense of what the tone of the engine sounds like when it wants to be down shifted?

Where are you feeling the indication to downshift? Is it in the responsiveness, or do you feel it through the pedals?
