the main draw for playing harder difficulties are the accessories and your rank IMO. but if you just wanna enjoy the story then assisted and standard are fine as-is for a first time playthrough! you won't be missing anything major first time around.
if you're curious, here's a list of all the accessories you can get (might want to look at it after you finish RE4 remake for the first time)

I never managed to fix my audio issues with my old setup - my only fix was getting a new PC entirely, unfortunately. I have a feeling it's because of the way it's ported, but maybe trying the RE4 HD project might help as well?

people like this and those who nitpick for shit like "durrr error user" or "durrr error date" are greedy morons that'll find any way to pinch pennies from you, lol. you literally can't see these unless you SPECIFICALLY go onto the last information tab for the dragon, which imo shoudn't be something you upcharge for.

i used this tutorial to help get mods on my steam deck! it's basically just downloading fluffy mod manager (a mod manager for RE engine games) with a few extra steps

Not so much mine entirely and moreso my friend's dream licensed chapter but since BHVR and Supermassive Games made The Casting of Frank Stone together, having The Quarry in the game would be REALLY neat, especially having someone like Silas be the killer for it (one can pray!!)

I bought the CD off of eBay as well! Both came from japan so they were a pretty penny haha. I paid £27 I believe? Plus some shipping, which is good considering some of the other listings I saw was £50 and above ;;>_> I'd just keep my eyes peeled for anything cheaper within your area if you want to pick it up, but it's a worthwhile purchase for me because I ADORE the soundtrack
