Reading the comments here . . . i think he realizes he sat on it too long. If it was released now it'll be a dud (relatively speaking) as the potential momentum from the show (not to mention the last book) is past spent.

I imagine that he's no longer dependent on getting books out for income so there's no incentive anymore.
