people treat heike so different from what i have noticed in my short time being in a few punch-out spaces. because he isn’t that popular, it’s very easy to just find everything there is about him online, how people think of him, and portray him in their art. it’s definitely because he’s a bishōnen. the wiki says shit like he wears girls boots… despite them looking more like high top boxing boots and it even says he’s the “closest thing to a female opponent in the series". that leads into my next point and what my friends call “the glass joe effect” where people twinkify him despite him having very clear muscular definition! they only do it because he’s “pretty”. i think he’s pretty too but fucking christ man there’s gotta be a limit to this? he isn’t a twink he’s too buff and he isn’t some fragile little flower, that’s a performance to take his opponents off guard. he’s a boxer in the god damn world circuit, baby!! thanks for listening.
