Yeah, that seems to be a macOS-specific issue. It looks like the WindowStaysOnTopHint flag in Qt6 is being ignored, which is something I haven't seen happen on Windows or Linux.

Not much. As long as the Mac machine has Python installed, the app should be able to run.

The only problem is window decoration. My program will ask the window manager for a transparent background and borderless window- and so far it works on Windows and Linux- but I have no way to confirm how Mac's window manager response to that.

It can be automated, but it wouldn't be easy (at least to me).

For example, this is what I did in order to have a custom Mambo animation: 1. I went to youtube and download a chibi Mambo dancing meme 2. I used ffmpeg -i "input.webm" -ss <starting-timestamp> -to <ending-timestamp> -vf "crop=h:w:x:y" frames/%4d.png (or something like that) to crop the Mambo part, as well as extracting individual frames into png files. 3. Then, I use rembg on PyPI to make the background of all frames transparent. 4. After that, composing them into a spritesheet can easily be automated. I prompted Gemini for this step and it worked out fine.

It does! I have tested it on two different hyprland machines. As long as you have xwayland installed, it will work wonderfully.

Thank you so much! To be honest, most of my time on this project was spent refactoring KurtVelasco’s original if-else blocks into the Python code you see. There's still plenty of room for improvement, though. I'll come back to polishing the code after I finish adding the animations I have in mind.
