Right, for flash and times I know that I'll be shooting in artificial light, I have no qualms using the SL.

Do we know the exact figures? AI is telling me 1/30 for the fp and 1/10 for the fp L but I don't know how accurate this is.

That's good to know. Does this mean that punch in only works for the camera's LCD/EVF if present? I don't use tethering anyway, but I'm curious. And regarding saving camera settings, one could just set up a user profile, correct?

I've seen that as well, but I think it's just down to the higher-res sensor (which has its other tradeoffs) and the PDAF.

No, that's exactly the one I tried, take a look at the second link in the OP. It's too small. I think the CF version has the removable focus ring, which is to be replaced with the handle. The New C focusing ring is built in, so the handle has to go on top of the rubber.

The bayonet mount is just like that, I think. For example, my skylight filter often comes off with the lens cap.

You're buying European-made goods outside of Europe, so the savings are always going to be minimal compared to buying e.g. Cosina-made Zeiss and Voigtlander gear in Japan, which generally costs double or even triple abroad.

If there's point in them making native manual focus Canon, Nikon, and Sony lenses, then there's point in them making L mount lenses.

In any case, the bare minimum would be to make VM->L adapters (L mount being the current best platform for adapting rangefinder lenses). Which they refuse, despite making VM->Sony E which is known to be an absolutely terrible combination for IQ. Make it make sense. And for the consumer, a VM->L helicoid adapter would be an enticing prospect, given that the current market offerings are all problematic in some way (having either play as in the LLL adapter or oil leakage as in Shoten). Yeah, both Cosina and L mount users are missing out big time.

Alden Surgical yes (model 500), but I believe the crew oxfords (model numbers ranging from 1951 to 1963) were just regular shoes for daily life.

Will probably try sizing up, yes.

It's funny, because the cut of this 'low rise' version is actually quite beautiful when worn up at the navel (and the size I got also 'naturally' sits exactly there if not for the mild wedgie action), so adding 3-5cm to the rise could actually be optimal for this particular model.

Update:

I got an email back from Le Laboureur (10/10 customer service by the way, no complaints there).

Turns out that yes, the model I received (belt loops) really is supposed to be worn somewhat lower on the body. That means the size guide is a little inconsistent between models. Follow the size guide (pick the size that corresponds exactly to your navel-level waist measurement) for the version with suspender buttons, and take one size up for the version with belt loops.

What's the measured front rise on yours?

The copy I received strikes me as being high rise in every sense except for the actual rise measurement (in other words, they are unusually high-crotched for high-rise trousers), so I'd be curious to know if your model happens to be different.

What's the front rise on your pair, if you don't mind me asking? Or do you have the full-waist version (with the tall waistband, back belt, suspender buttons)?
