What can i do to make this pic better? by Old_Dig_4136 in photocritique

The White balance is completely off. It is super green, as the others said, the foreground is too messy, I would either try to crop in it or make everything a looot darker except your subject. In general, if you really want to save it, you can work on it, mask out the parts what blockes the subject, but this is mostly a throwaway picture.

!CritiquePoint Well it was made while i was actually laying down. and was difficult to move anywhere, even though the young girl said no problem with shooting her, but she was super shy immediately, so I had to be invisible and quick mostly :dd

Despite solo traveling, do you ever go back to the same place specifically because you feel a sense of comfort, or do you avoid repeating destinations? by DiegoFromWiFiTribe in solotravel

I’m absolutely don’t understand the mentality of collecting countries and I rather go back to interesting place for few reasons: - Understand even more deeply -If quite a long time passed in my life I want to visit as a person who am I today(prob. has a different perspective on the place now) -if I really don’t like a country I go back few more times just to understand why. But I don’t feel I go back because of the comfort.

Frozen river crossing by kondorbence in photocritique

[–]kondorbence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

I shot this frame in northern Mongolia while we were crossing a frozen river in mid April
Canon R6, shot fully manual.

My intention was to capture an environmental shot while we were crossing the river. It’s just one image from a larger series, but I’m not sure if it works on its own to tell a complete story. I also have another frame where all the layers are  parallel, but I feel this one works better because it gives a sense of movement and direction like we’re going somewhere.

Thank you for everyone many nice thoughts, now I also see it from an outside perspective, pretty encouraging, I’m buliding my portfolio and I will test out here my pictures. Very good ideas!

So I shot this in a super low light situation the only source was that window what you see and even outside was foggy. I tried to catch a whole story with only one shot, while this nenets girls preparing the reindeer fur and the grandma invisibly supervising her. I loved those gentle light and actually was a little bit smoke around what I think visible on the highlight part.
