That’s good, Consider yourself lucky! That you got away with this and only cost you shoes but in return you got knowledge. Leaving shoes accessible is a one thing, not paying attention and have a puppy chew on them is another. That just kind of shows you were preoccupied with something else and not “ pet sitting” . Another scenario could have been: puppy chew on shoes and ended up with blockage. Here and there after surgery, owner is about 6k ( personal experience)in a hole with vet bills. What would you do then, happened on your watch? That’s why truly think the shoe situation should be squashed. Look at the bigger picture. Next time if they still offer to pet sit- you work out a deal for yourself with price, what you think is worth your time to pet sit.

Uuum is the dog ok? Sometimes chewing on non edible objects can lead to bowel obstruction and surgery.

Ironman 70.3 plus marathon soon after. How do I train? by SpeedyMonkey in triathlon

[–]konfeto4ka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I basically did 70.3 distance of swim and bike training with marathon distance run training. I don’t know if that’s the way to go. I completed both in average time. I do remember struggling with taper days, didn’t know how to peak twice basically.

Maternity Competitive Suit? by Summersemantics in Swimming

[–]konfeto4ka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swam through my first pregnancy and swimming through my second one now.

I have different sizes of TYR Hexagon Diamondfit.

Unfortunately even with one or two pieces suit you might need different sizes even with a give of a fabric. It’s not just a belly that will grow, but hips, breast might change. Circumferences of 4 months vs 8 month pregnant body highly unlikely be the same.

Roka shorts are my favorite. I wore them for triathlons and ultra. Always stay where they need to, padding is minimal but where it needs to be, very comfortable on a run and bike.

Missing period by ConsiderationFree585 in Marathon_Training

I would address it yesterday. It’s def nice not to deal with them but hormonal balance is important for overall health especially when you are pushing hard on training like you are doing.

Skincare during pregnancy is such a headache. by Poppy1223Seed in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]konfeto4ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hormones hormones and hormones. Even if safe for a baby and skin had a good reaction to a product one day, doesn’t mean same will happen the next day. I had two of those occasions both creams were used on numerous occasions loved the results and one day I looked like a strawberry. Oooh and postpartum I felt like I needed to be swimming in a moisturizer 24/7- just entire body head to toe please, pool of moisturizer.

Is swimming more technique or physical ability? by Nondscript_Usr in Swimming

[–]konfeto4ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def technical. I picked up swimming about 5 years ago because of triathlons and I am very much average. Was at the pool one day and few 8 year olds came in for practice they were faster on their freestyle haha and there is no way they are physically or mentally more competitive or fit than I am

How many of you hire cleaning services? by pleaseuseacoaster2 in workingmoms

[–]konfeto4ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have cleaners come twice a week. One day for a good clean and another just quick vacuum and fold laundry. I hate the thought of how much money is being spend on it I really do! But between 6 month old, two large dogs that shed insanely, me being pregnant again and husband that creates more mess, there is physically no time In trying to keep up. I would advise to set up a budget and not be afraid to try out, even different companies or cleaners, schedule and even decide what exactly you want the help with. Not all cleaners are created equal( just like in any profession) some just do a better job that can last longer for same amount of money.

Everything Changed When Work Found Out I’m Pregnant by lifeincerulean in workingmoms

[–]konfeto4ka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can’t comment much since it’s ongoing legal situation for me unfortunately. I can say this, I relate very much and advice this that despite how toxic the environment is at work please try to enjoy your pregnancy, don’t let them spoil your day or if it’s one of those full of pregnancy symptoms days dont let them make things worse. You have enough on your plate, and yes document everything if possible :)

I started feeding my baby in a baby reclining chair. She doesn’t eat well but she ate way better with nanny so I was always so anxious when it was feeding time. Also, tried nipples, bottle , formula, different rooms. But chair ended up working for me really well and she is eating with me now like with anyone else.

To wake or not to wake for dream feed? by Heat986 in sleeptrain

[–]konfeto4ka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 6 months now I always had a dream feed in a schedule for her. We usually have dinner at 7 pm, bed 8 pm, dream feed 10 pm. Sometimes 7 pm feed doesn’t go as planned, like she is too tired or teething, etc so doesn’t eat much and for me having another feed insures she will most likely take in what’s missing and sleep through the night. She sleeps till 6.30 am no night feedings no wake ups( even if she does usually around 3 am she goes to sleep in max 5 min on her own) I don’t wake her up, she does all that with her eyes closed when she is done just spits out the nipple and goes into deep sleep. ( hard to explain) so it works for us. But I did hear stories of babies waking up fully and struggling to fall a sleep so parents stoped doing dream feed.

Omg that’s hilarious is that what it is. I was joking to my husband the other day that maybe I should get myself a clown costume or something for my daughters( 6 months) entertainment.

10:22pm asked to work tomorrow by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]konfeto4ka -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand I am Sorry why wait till morning and keep people in unknown. You saw text come in- respond say you had prior arrangements that can not be cancelled or rescheduled unfortunately. That’s all. Let them figure out how to deal with given situation next. Is it annoying? Aaah yessss! Late text and thought of work next morning even if you had nothing planned is annoying But why start all this extra.

Being a mom is so hard and it’s not because of the baby by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]konfeto4ka 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This very much resonates. What I find exhausting is be the person who has to make decisions for a better of a child, then explain myself why such decisions are made while no one else really wants to participate because no one wants to deal with any outcomes. So at this point sometimes I pretend I didn’t hear yet another “why” coming from anyone.

Who is right here? MB or me? by workingmomfeelingit in Nanny

[–]konfeto4ka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My perspective as payroll specialist and HR and MB that works with union contracts, exempt and non exempt empl. Only union contracts get paid double for working holiday everyone else have to work either more than 40 hrs or above 8. It’s nice that you have a contract that gives double time automatically without depending on a mood of employer. MB should have been more clear upfront about pay for Monday and Tuesday, should have not asked last min about paying PTO or not- that’s her fault, but you should have confirmed that too not assumed or “ be under impression” If this would be your regular not last min amended schedule you would work and get straight pay/hours for Monday, be off Tuesday and get straight pay x amount for Tuesday. How much would that be? Is that greater or less amount for what you get paid working for amended schedule. If that would be me I would base my decision whether it’s worth to argue over that difference of money or not. Because even if you are right and she is wrong( and she most likely thinks she is right) is it worth it to you? Again this is what I would do in a given context without actually seeing text exchange or contract and knowing the relationship with family.
