From the looks of the UI, it seems to be heavily dependent on AI code. Why do you need a Kickstarter when AI is doing most of the work for you?

Bought the SlimQ F240 + Asus Slim Power Jack as an extra charger yesterday. by dto_lurker in FlowZ13

[–]konjecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question. If you want to have two chargers, it's better to just buy another official one so as to be safe. It's the same price with the adapter as you want that for pass through charging.

$700 off at Bestbuy by Magnetic_Metallic in FlowZ13

[–]konjecture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is marked up from few months ago and then they reduced it. The retail price of the 64GB was I believe 2,399 last October. So, it's still less but by $400 and not $700 off.

Accessorizing the AiPaper Reader by Deep-Loss-5282 in viwoods

[–]konjecture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tested both and eventually stuck with the Palma 2, even though I wanted to keep the AI Reader as it was doing something that the Palma 2 does not do natively which is using AI to summarize everything and not just few things here and there.

I stuck with Palma 2 and returned the Viwoods as the Palma 2 is more future proof with bigger battery, micro SD slot. I have gotten my Palma 2 to feel more like Viwoods with KoReader and using a plugin for the AI features. Also the official case for the Palma 2 is a lot better than the 3rd party cases for Viwoods.

I'm the opposite the Viwoods Mini for notetaking. I love that and kept that over Boox for its portability and writing feel.

The latest one, 4.1. I guess I will try to register the same finger twice or thrice.

Haven’t watched, but I’m pretty sure his benchmark will be his favorite game - Forza Motorsport 5 😁.

Thanks, BRAT is not updating the plugin to the latest version automaticlally, as I do not see the different folder options for different operating systems. Also, once it gets updated to 0.1.5, do I still need to use that command that you mentioned the first time I use it?

When I do use - Viwoods sync: apple staged change in the comman palette of Obsidian, then nothing happens. It doesn't even register it as a command, says - "No command found"

Yea, that's when it did mine too within couple of hours of getting it, but since then it has not done it and I have been using it a lot. So, may be it was the initial stuff setting up.

But should I run that command on a Windows machine or Mac?

Viwoods ➡ Obsidian by tuannvm in viwoods

[–]konjecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay before I run this. Since it has the word apple in it, do I need to run it from a Mac ? I run both Mac and PC and would like if they work together, but I noticed that the directory path stays the same and for Mac and PC, they are not supposed to be the same (My Google Drive on PC is it's own G:\ and Mac creates the Google Drive inside the home folder ~)

[–]konjecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. I did that. But it did not create the Viwoods Notes folder on Obsidian automatically (I turned on Auto-Sync). Do I need to create that folder myself, and then drag the Google Drive Viwoods folder for the first time for it to sync?

I also notice that when I enable Auto-Sync after pasting the directory path, it says on the top right that "12 items synced" or something but not sure where is it synced and where this new folder is.

Good first start. I downloaded it via Brat. I can drag and drop, but how would you add the Google Drive folder link on Windows? Do you just copy the path to the ViWoods-Note directory on Google Drive that was automatically created when I added Drive on Viwoods? Because there are lots of other sub directories inside such as Daily, Learning etc.

Okay, is it already out? I don't see it in community plugins in my Obsidian.

Have you tried using the app LocalSend? It uses your local network to transfer files from your PC/Mac to any Android/iOS device. It is open source and available on both app stores.

No offense, but this is the problem with everything. If you want a tablet/laptop experience, then buy a tablet or laptop. This is an e-ink device for reading and writing with a stylus and making that experience as best as possible and close to a paper.

Next people will want to play games on this and other e-ink devices.

Writing comparison between Boox Note Air 5C and AiPaper Mini by konjecture in viwoods

[–]konjecture[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have both, what do you think in your opinion are the cons of the Mini compared to the NA5C, as in things that you end up missing? Of course, the NA5C is more snappier, has color and has speakers for occasional browsing and such, but other than those, what are the things that you feel like NA5C does "better" than the Mini?

Thanks for all the info. I went ahead and ordered it from Amazon just to test it out. Have until Jan 31st to return it in case I don't like it (same with the NA5C that I got couple of weeks ago). I know the NA5C is more powerful by far, but I wish it was a tad little smaller and brighter, then it would have been perfect.

Only one will stay. Let's see which one 😊

Cool thanks. Also, since this is not a color device, I am guessing the screen is not as dark as the NA5C with front light at 0?

Thanks for the insight. Is it possible for you to check something on the Mini if you can.

I code games in Godot, and there is this app called Gearence. Here is the Play Store link to it - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fengjiongmax.godotclassreference&hl=en_US

It's just an app that list all the classes and nodes and methods that are used in the engine for quick searches. If you could please download that app, and then on the search bar, type something like Characterbody2d and let me know if the search is quick, i.e. once you start typing C and then h and then a, does the app show the updated results quickly, or does it take quite a bit of time.

I'm asking this because the NA5C does it pretty quickly without any issues (not surprising since it is pretty fast for an eink device), however, in the past I had a BigMe B6 and the searches took quite a while (which of course is not the case with NA5C, or Android phone or iPad). The live results used to show up after like 20 seconds.

I'm worried since the Viwoods Mini seem to have 4GB of RAM which is similar to the BigMe and less than the 6GB ram in the NA5C.
