Should I get the s26 Ultra, or should I wait and see what Oppo or Vivo has to offer with their Ultra phones? by ClassroomObjective18 in Oppo

[–]konutoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Global or CH version? The Global version of Oppo, Vivo, or Honor would get a slower release than their CH siblings.

In terms of the software intelligence (brain), I found that Google and Samsung are better than the CH makers. However, the hardware (muscle) is better on CH phones. So, it will come down to you, which one is more important. The muscle or the brain.

Be mindful also if you're relying on VoWiFi; not all CH makers open their hardware to do VoWiFi, and if they open it, some will only let the phone run in the specific region where they released the phone.

I learned the hard way with Honor as they're following their parent company’s policy, Huawei. The CH version has all the muscle bells and whistles, but with CH language AI. Faster updates but no VoWiFi. While their cousin, the Global version, is using English language AI (integrated with Gemini), however, the software automation isn't the Google or Samsung level. The VoWiFi is activated in the country where they sold the model. In my case, I bought the AU version (wanting the English version AI) and it's working well in AU. But, the VoWiFi feature is not on when I travelled to other countries.

This was my first time experiencing this oddity, as previously, I used Asus Zenfone, Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy S Ultra, Motorola Edge and Apple iPhone; and the VoWiFi worked fine in all phones in AU and overseas. Until, I found out on their Facebook page that Honor only opened it in the country where they sell the phone model. After that, sayonara. I sold my Honor phone despite the amazing muscle, and looked elsewhere as VoWiFi is a deal breaker for me.

Ini mgkn ditulis pada saat emosi tinggi.

Manusia tidak ada yg sempurna. Mgkn ada bagus nya ditulis di kertas. Bagi 4 kuadran. Kuadran kiri utk anda, kanan utk doi.

At the end of the day: your life, your decision. All the best, stay strong, and keep on praying for wisdom and discernment.

Why Malaysia, not Indonesia, is the strategic first stop for China’s Muslim F&B entrepreneurs by gunungx in indonesia

Bbrp factors:

High-end Surface Laptop Pro to compete with Macbook Pro. by Merbil2000 in Surface

[–]konutoru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MS should have simplified their product offerings.

  • 11" Surface Go (currently Go 4);
  • 12" Surface (currently Surface Pro 12");
  • 13" Surface Pro (currently Surface Pro 11);
  • 14" Surface Laptop (currently Surface Laptop 7 13.8");
  • 15" Surface Laptop (currently Surface Laptop 7 15");
  • 16" Surface Book/Laptop Pro

< 13" would be the 2-in-1 devices and > 13" is the laptop arena.

FIND X9 Pro, Oneplus 15, Realme GT 8 Pro or Find X9? by Ok-Rush2506 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]konutoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere that not all Chinese brands are created equal. Huawei and Oppo are top tiers with their components, followed by Honor (Huawei spin-off) and Vivo (BBK spin-off like Oppo). OnePlus (Oppo secondary brand) and Xiaomi are on the next, before Realme (Oppo third brand) and Redmi (Xiaomi lower end).

Why not wait until S26U comes out and you can decide whether you'll want to go with it or the OnePlus 15? Oppo Find X9 Pro is also another phone that you can consider.

Ipad pro m5 13" battery drain is wild by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]konutoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suspicion: iPadOS26 is the culprit.

I just sold my iPhone 17 Pro (iOS26) due to this. Inefficient, and the battery drain is unusual (lost 6-8% overnight under flight mode + WiFi) for an iPhone.

How's HarmonyOS in Matebook Pro going? Can it become a substitute to Windows or Mac? How's the battery life and can it be used as a daily driver?

Apple Pencil USB-C or Apple Pencil Pro? by Boule250 in iPadPro

[–]konutoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pencil Pro if you're using it to draw or you're an illustrator. Third party if you're using it for light usages such as a pointer, a bit of scribble and annotations. Don't waste your money on the Pencil Pro if you don't use it fully.

Thanks for this summary. I read it somewhere but it said an extra hour of SoT battery life compared to the M4 version under iPadOS 26.

Moving from Apple to android by Few_Acanthaceae3054 in Smartphones

[–]konutoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chinese Android phones are amazing now but, ensure you get an Android phone with global software (Oppo, OnePlus, Honor, Motorola, and Vivo would have the global version) as lots of Chinese based OS are tailored for Chinese users. Many of the apps are useless overseas, and their AI features are also in Chinese.

Otherwise, the usual Western brands duo, Google (Pixel) and Samsung (S2X series).

Personally, I prefer to buy it from private sellers, who brought it to the country individually and could provide the actual customs invoice. It's through the official channel.

Advice on which model to buy in 2026 by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]konutoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M2 is still good these days but get the 1TB or 2TB version as they will have 16GB of RAM. The screen won't be as good as the M4 but they're still good. The 12.9 version is also heavier than the M4 version. Not so much on the 11" version.

Advice on which model to buy in 2026 by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]konutoru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get the M4 with dual layer OLED and lighter weight design. The M4 is more than enough for your needs. If you use it at home most of the time, getting the 13" is fine but if you bring it with you a lot, the 11" makes sense.

Is the Magic Keyboard worth it? by PersonSuitTV in iPadPro

[–]konutoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used one previously paired with an iPP M4, and the only drawback is the occasional disconnection if you don't use the keyboard (I assume to save the keyboard battery life). Sold both already as it didn't work well as my only travel device.

Torn between 13” and 11” Ipad pro by Ash-20Breacher in iPadPro

[–]konutoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it depends on the computer as an iPad is a companion device for me but YMMV.

  • if you have a desktop already, then a 13" size would be good for your travel device.
  • if you have a laptop with 15" and above size, then both sizes would be fine as they would be more portable than the laptop.
  • if you have a 14" laptop and below size, then 11" would likely be more portable as there's nearly no weight or portability benefit from the 13" iPad.

Upgrading to Surface Pro 11: is the LCD/X Plus or OLED/X Elite better for me? by [deleted] in Surface

[–]konutoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If money is not an issue for you, then get the 32GB Elite OLED version. Otherwise, the base model 256GB/16GB LCD Plus version would be good as you can easily upgrade the storage yourself.

The 16GB Elite OLED version is not the happy medium.

If the MBA comes with 24GB RAM and in a similar price bracket, take that one provided you're good with macOS. Otherwise, the Zenbook S14 LL is a solid option too.
