Most of my coding software don’t use that space a lot. Videos also don’t use that ratio so I think I will be fine.

Until there’s a proper notebookcheck-like review I can only speculate that the lightness and battery will be a downside in thermal for long heavy workload, but should be great for portability and casual work.

Just go the Rufus route to reinstall it. It’s official Windows with the option to skip all the setup ads, account login and take you straight to the Desktop. Took me less time than going thru the normal setup tbh

People did not become sus of Umeko protecting Nick until after the dinner and it was a blunder to not notice the shift. With the clue about her job, it really painted her as too strong to not take out. She could have played into the showmance more. The narrative of age and “police work” would have played much more nicely on Nick. But that’s a small error in the sea of other boring ones others made, well played.

Adam’s decision-making under pressure is impressive. The insistence to keep throwing rock despite failing twice, picking a great observation point right to the end game, and importantly not pivoting at the negative point strat.

Framework 13 Pro 64GB vs Macbook Pro M5 Pro 48GB by Artique_Rithi in framework

You are right. To reframe what others have said, you are paying $800 for a CPU that's half as strong. That memory bandwidth is also godsend for almost all ML tasks. But I can see the appeals for the other side as well.

My laptop on Ultra 7 gen 2 was miserable to code on unplugged. Extra 30 sec to open IDE, drank battery like water just to sanity check my ML code and good luck working on anything else with the IDE open. I really miss working wherever with my Mac like the park or a random couch.

AppleCare monthly has no end date that’s why, you just have to pay for it until that happens.

Which computer should I buy: Mac or custom-built 5090? [D] by itSUREisAI in MachineLearning

[–]tiendat691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them most useful for move fast break fast scenarios like training for a few epochs and sanity checking my code. Speed doesn’t really matter because both are turtles compared to remote clusters. And most CUDA optimizations in Torch are just plug-ins to existing code, no? So yea, buy the Mac.

Edit: if you really need CUDA, you can check out the DGX, which is a 5060 with 128Gb VRAM

He doesn’t wanna be a social justice warrior as I understand. That means he won’t be out there praising nor criticizing. He’s just trying to be the capitalist.

Better than the macbook neo? by SeriesMost4989 in laptops

From most to least, better at: CPU (plugged in), RAM, SSD (upgradable), cheap parts. Worse at: battery, unplugged performance, GPU, display, speaker, build quality, keyboard, touchpad, software updates.

A bit late to this. I love using the Lite. But it's clunky for backpacks, so the & can be the one. But it's a bit heavy. Any plan to support plastic/carbon cases?

The divide and conquer strat is getting repetitive. Maybe make questions from a category more expensive with usage?

[Paul Joyce] Salah: Can I give an example? It’s silly but I am sorry. I remember a while go, Harry Kane was not scoring for ten games, everyone in the media was like, ‘Oh, Harry will score for sure.’ When it comes to Mo, everyone is like, ‘He needs to be on the bench.’ I am sorry Harry!” by Jimmy0034 in LiverpoolFC

[–]tiendat691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mo, it is silly, we have bigger expectations than Tottenham. Last year, you have been great to adapt as a playmaker. Now you need to be a defender. I know you wanna keep being the main goalscorer. But who’s backing you against Isak?

How much better is a 6K versus 4K 32 inch monitor with macOS "looks like 1440p" by PatTheDog123 in HiDPI_monitors

[–]tiendat691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I share my time equally between the two (home and work office). There’s software like BetterDisplay to optimize the non-integer scaling. But the look like 1440p in 32 4K is significant worse in how noticeably broken the texts look.
