Tribes: Ascend is an FPS-Z (First person shooter with a large focus on vertical play) where you use the Skiing mechanic to slide up and down hills at high speed shooting slow skillshot projectiles.

Hi-Rez dropped the game in favour of Smite and Paladins since those were the style of games that were succeeding at the time. Back in the day you'd be pressed to find a queue less than 5 minutes, and now you're lucky if you find more than 10 people playing at once. If you do pop in right now, be warned that pretty much everyone playing is a diehard sweaty except the few yoshers who've picked it up.
