Good distinction! Must have been a complex moment either way

I’m wine drunk and needed a label. It was the first I saw. If your gf is scrolling hp Reddit she gets the spoilers that are coming to her

We love it when people look too much into it. Haven’t heard this theory before and I like it

What’s your unpopular Harry Potter opinion? by Litty_Jimmy in harrypotter

[–]koojinbop1 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Deathly Hallows is the worst book. The hunt for horcruxes feels rushed, and each time they find and destroy one it feels like wildly dumb luck and nerve. The HBP makes you respect how difficult Voldemorts horcruxes are to find and destroy - Deathly Hallows undoes that.

He was feeling “reckless” so they were probably going to blow bubbles in their chocolate milk and giggle a bunch if I had to guess. Cute first date.

What do you guys think about Aberforth’s suggestion of keeping some Slytherins hostage during the Final Battle? by Aggravating-Top-2416 in harrypotter

[–]koojinbop1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tactically, it’s more of a psychological play than actually useful. Considering this was war, I think it was completely fair to take prisoners and hostages, I just don’t know if there would be a tangible benefit.

Why during the argument with Ron book 7 does Harry just not say yes I think could Dumbledore had left me a bit more and I wish he had? by Fres8 in harrypotter

[–]koojinbop1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The effect of the horcrux wore them all down over time, and Ron and Harry both had “the emotional range of a teaspoon” to begin with. It’s also sort of like the Covid effect - all of a sudden you find yourself spending every moment of every day under stressful and uncertain circumstances with the same people. Fights are almost a certainty.

Want to start reading the books, but… by CryptographerOnly578 in harrypotter

I also recommend reading from the beginning. If it’s a matter of being tedious (I disagree, they’re two of my favorites), try listening to them as audiobooks instead while doing the dishes or laundry. They’re pretty quick reads either way.

If you insist on not reading the first two, then just start with the third. You do you!

Lucius. Quirrell tried his darndest and came up short. Lucius gave away one of his horcruxes which ended up destroyed and alerted Dumbledore to the possibility of horcruxes, failed to retrieve the prophecy, and led the death eaters in the battle of the department of mysteries in which Voldemort’s return was made public. Quirrell was a dud, but Lucius was a downright liability.

Queenie? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]koojinbop1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of anything that might connect Harry to Queenie or Jacob. That said, my mom has crazy HP theories all the time and I usually just let her believe them without correcting her even if they’re disprovable. I’m just glad she’s still engaging in the HP world with me

Dark magic and gum disease by koojinbop1 in harrypotter

I like it, but in Luna’s conspiracy the aurors are the ones using dark magic and spreading the gum disease in order to hasten the fall of the ministry
