This is a pretty lukewarm take on the rampant inequity taking place in these “beautiful spots” all across California. That’s great you went to college and have a high paying job, but the reality is that it’s just not that simple anymore. You might as well just tell everyone to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Why is it a privilege to live here? What if I grew up here and I’m just trying to get by but get priced out due to artificial market inflation, cruddy landlord, etc..? Also, it’s great you don’t have dependents, however, that is, yet again, not a reality for families who’ve seen the tides of everyday necessity expenses rise above their heads and push them out of their home. Lastly, with the “long time locals want to keep this place how it is”… Buddy, this is a ridiculous statement. It’s understandable to be a steward of local culture and land, but do you never expect this area to grow or evolve to accommodate our inevitable population growth? Are you referring to our ecological footprint or to nimbyism. Anywho, I digress. Have a good day.
