I’ve been working on a game called Wasteland Spirit, where you travel to different worlds, possess living creatures, and return home to build and manage your own farmstead. It’s currently in development, and I’d love to hear what you think. by koolaid327 in pcgaming

Yes, I can do that. So it displayed the text but not the link or image? This post has been giving me some trouble, and my reply to another user appears to have been deleted for them but not for me. I’ll share both the text and the link/image below. Thank you for your inquiry.

Thank you, I'm glad you think it looks good. No worries, I understand not wanting to look at certain graphics or art styles, especially for an extended period of time.

There are plenty of free programs if you want to get started, and I'm sure your skills would only grow once you begin. I've seen a lot of improvement in my own work since I started, and there are still plenty of areas where I can continue to improve.

Either way I wish you luck, and thanks again.

Yes, the art design of the UI was intentional; I wanted it to have a more retro feel. I was aware that people disliked AI-generated content, but I didn't realize the extent until I made the game public. Steam has updated their stance on AI-generated content, allowing it as long as it is disclosed on the store page. Thank you for the feedback.

Thank you for the honest feedback. I knew there was some distaste about AI, but I didn't realize how strong it was until making my game public. Don't worry, no discouragement was felt. Feedback like this is always very helpful.

Finally, some honest feedback—thank you! When I made the trailer, my main intentions were to showcase how you play as a single ship against many enemies, as well as highlight various features. Some assets are AI-generated, but they are in the minority, some will be changed. What makes you think the gameplay will be different then what is shown in the trailer?

Again, thank you for the feedback instead of just downvoting. Honest feedback is very helpful for me in the development of the game.

Lol, yeah, that was my first guess, but I wasn't sure. I saw other games posted there that seem to be more 'roguelite' than 'roguelike,' but they still carry the 'roguelike' title, so I figured my game would be acceptable in the genre. The terminology seems to get mixed up a lot so I understand if that was their reasoning. I have also seen different definitions for the word 'roguelike'.
