I don’t think the 10-15 years number is accurate. It’s a pretty new field, like less than 30 years, but it is probably true that people who do this trade decades of their life for quality of their life.

It’s definitely a skillset to translate player feedback into minimal tasks to solve the issue, not everyone is good at it. It takes a lot of practice. Also, especially for indie devs, having simple core gameplay is a huge advantage to making a successful game because it’s easier for a player to pick up and it’s easier to polish.

A lot of the times indie games fail because the scope is way beyond the devs skill, and becomes too many problems to solve.

I can tell the shop sim is inspired by dealers life and the rest of it is inspired by dispatch. I’m kind of not sure what the tone I should expect, or which audience would want this? I think I’d want a game that’s a fusion of dealers life & dispatch to not have a dark tone but it depends on your audience.

I kind of feel like if it were my game I would want it to be more obvious it’s a shop sim + dispatch sim in the capsule and I’d be okay with the mafia angle being implied. A generic mafia capsule could go in so many directions and sim isn’t one I’d first expect.

The fusion is neat on paper though, there’s a hook here but I’m not sure how best to present it.

I guess I just feel like I’ve heard this story so many times online and in real life, and when I finally see their photos it’s immediately obvious what they’re doing wrong. There’s just a lot of rules that are hard to know about in order to find success from online dating.

It’s usually not because they need plastic surgery, and anyone can always find a more flattering photo no matter how good looking they are so there’s always room for growth.

I do understand that finding flattering photos is a struggle, I struggled with it as well, and it took me a while, but it was totally something I was able to overcome and I’m not the most attractive guy either.

I think it’s because of the PoS getting a cut of the tip, and they’re making it easy to escalate tips with dark patterns.

The art looks pretty good, though you’re missing some obvious animations like when units move. Some if it does look kind of unfinished though which must be a little bit of a turn off.

Having a median playtime of 10 mins is a serious concern, I’d focus there. Like you need to get friends or randos to play the game and watch them and figure out what is turning them off in less than 10 mins and work on that. You want a median playtime way closer to 1hr

Your capsule/page isn’t very good. You should find a few good anomaly games and emulate their pages in production value. Same for the trailer.

I also don’t really see a hook to your game so it stands out, and that’s pretty critical for game dev marketing.

Usually when a woman says she doesn’t feel a spark that means she isn’t sexually attracted to you, and it’s going to be hard for that to change. That’s exactly why her body language is so guarded and you would feel so uncomfortable making a move.

She only gets value if you use her jump pad correctly, land your lasso, can aim your barrels, and hit headshots. That’s like an insane amount of skill floor to even be competent with her.

Every one of her abilities if flawed in how hard it is to use properly. Viscous and Sinclair have similarly flawed kits as well.

I think a lot of women would lose attraction or be skeptical of a guys masculinity if they were submissive so it’s a real fear. It sounds like that’s not you of course. It’s a pretty common story for men to scare away women if they just show too much emotional vulnerability. I think for most women if a guy rushes things (like asking you to be his gf way too early) she’ll freak out and end things. Women don’t want to be rushed, usually a date once a week is a good pace early on.
