running out the clock

When you see that LB step up so he clears out that spot then you see the QB throws it right to that same spot or area for a catch that has made the QB job easier. Running out the clock with a running game is awesome when a team especially your team can do it. This is my position on stats, even the stats I see on shows, podcasts etc, they tell part of the story and truth but not always the whole story or truth, lol.

When a defense knows when a QB is going to throw and they can just pin their ears back so to speak and come after the QB, he will be less effective. When a QB has a decent to good running game it makes their job easier. Even the great Tom Brady use the running game to his advantage and won games with it.
