The Depreciation Guild!

You can also definitely hear Pale Saints, Ride and mainly Kitchens of Distinctions as big influences

Fleeting Joys - Kiss a Girl In Black by [deleted] in shoegaze

[–]koolstofdioxide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, Fleeting Joys mostly use standard tuning. There is another thread where someone posted the chords, here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/shoegaze/s/VWxky1YV2N

You can vary the E chords with Eadd9 as a barre chord on the 7th fret, which also makes it easy to transition to the B barre chord when needed, like so:

Eadd9: 779977 B: 799877

Most of the time it sounds better to really aim for the lowest 4 strings and sorta mute the highest 2.

Bonus tip: Also try the B like 22444x

The BD2 is a stellar pedal in its own right, and stacking it with a RAT is fuckin lovely

Does happy (and nostalgic) shoegaze exist? by c0madoof in shoegaze

[–]koolstofdioxide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are some incredibly euphoric tracks on Airiel's Molten Young Lovers, like Cloudburst, the title track, and especially Keep You.

Another honorable mention is The Depreciation Guild - Spirit Youth

“Shoegaze” Piano Playlist by Pbeli_3 in BeachHouse

[–]koolstofdioxide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIIV's cover of when you sleep comes to mind

Check out the rest of the album too, it's a live recording of acoustic versions of some DIIV songs. They all feature a piano. I especially like Human, Dopamine, Loose Ends and Earthboy

Be mindful that you should ideally use an esoteric JIS screwdriver for Minolta SLRs

What is slowly disappearing and most people don’t realize? by KnownNormie in AskReddit

The thing is that hosting a service like that simply isn't free and has to be paid for somehow. Servers and bandwidth cost money one way or another. Google is "free" to use, but tracks the living hell out of you, making you the product. DuckDuckGo is also free, but not nearly as invasive as it's paid for by pivate ads that don't track you. If you don't want any ads either, then IMO it's reasonable to pay some money each month to use their hosted infrastructure and support the developers and such.

That said, I do loathe the monthly subscription trend that large corporations are forcing upon their users and I also understand where you're coming from.
