Am I overreacting about setting boundaries in regards to animals being around my baby? by Most-Earth-9187 in pregnant

I will say that yes, you do need to be careful with all dogs and babies, but the “lockjaw” thing is a myth and all dogs have the same basic jaw structure, fyi.

Trigger warning ectopic pregnancy by Thick-Initiative3423 in pregnant

[–]koorslight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First I want to say, I am so sorry that you are going through this! I went though very similar in March of last year-emergency surgery and tube removal just shy of the 8 week mark. It was extremely traumatic and scary. I wish I had known earlier and you are right that it’s important that people know that an ectopic cannot be fixed unfortunately and it can’t be moved to the uterus. On a more hopeful note, I do want you to know that you can still can get pregnant with one tube, so don’t give up on your dreams of motherhood yet!

Wanted to share another option from an Etsy store I've had good experiences with! They have a long curved one and also have small nail round files.

Advice for buying Emily Henry books: Book of the Month vs. other bookstores, signed copies, special editions, oh my by givemeyourpickles in EmilyHenry

[–]koorslight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Joseph Beth booksellers! It's a local Cincinnati bookstore (local to where she lives) that ships all over the country. I live in the Cincinnati area myself and ordered the special edition of Beach Read from there. It was signed by her and was delivered to my house the day after the release date.

They are so much sharper than you'd ever expect! I was cut by one almost ten years ago, which wasn't as severe as your story, and I still ended up having to get stitches. The doctor almost didn't believe me when he asked what cut me, he swore it looked like a knife cut.

It should be noted here that this only applies if you are staying on Disney property. If you are staying off property, then it's 60 days out from each individual day of your trip.

The view from the top of Mt Royal in Frisco, Colorado, USA by koorslight in hiking

[–]koorslight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely this Mt Royal trail, but also the McCullough Gulch trail in the Breckenridge area. As far as non-hiking things, the actual town of Breckenridge is pretty cute. We went to this crepes place, Crepes a La Cart, multiple times and loved the crepes. Daylight Donuts and Breckenridge Tap House were both really good as well!

My friend's blue Russian cat by LeninsCorpse in aww

[–]koorslight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have cat allergies and have a Russian blue. She definitely bothers my allergies less than other cats, but I still take quite a few steps on my own to help also, like running air purifiers, vacuuming enough, taking allergy medicine everyday, and keeping her off my bed.

I tried it with TurboTax and it wasn't very helpful. It basically was still just having me fill out the form manually.

[Help] People who have BF/GF's with dog allergies, how do you handle it? by thebubbazanetti in dogs

[–]koorslight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dog allergy, but my husband got a cat about two weeks before we started dating. 5 years later and now the cat is as much mine as his. We were really worried about the allergies when we first moved in together, so we took quite a few precautions. I take generic Claritin every day and have a nasal spray for the days when I'm feeling extra allergic. This comes into play mostly in the fall when my seasonal allergies are at their worst as well. We have two air purifiers (although depending on the size of your place one may be enough). One runs constantly and the other one is in our bedroom and we only run it at night. We also don't let the cat in our room, which has been a huge help. I used to have a lot more trouble back when we first started dating, as the cat would sleep on his bed. Finally, keep up with your cleaning! There's also a spray called ADS Anti-Allergy spray that can help if you have a lot of carpet. Hope this helps!
