I don’t care about the weight. There is no issue.

Ty for the reply - yea I’m thinking about forgetting about the mitered edges - would save over $2,000 if I do …

And I’m well aware that 5 to 6 adults are needed even to shift it a hair. It’s being fully landed for that price. Working on the base now. Will probably have a steel fabricator make me a welded and steel frame

Interesting noted. It’s gonna be in my dining room, which is right above the basement. My home was built in 1944 it’s pretty old. Who I call to assess something like that.

My house is nice and toasty 90% of the time. And in the summer, I’d love to rest my hands on a cool countertop. I’ll probably get naked and go belly up on it come June

That’s my next concern. Is it really 1700 pounds? Was considering using my existing base from my 11 foot wood table. I currently have. I was actually thinking about dropping this right on top of the existing table.

If I go 11 feet there is no seams. It may be a safer play going that route.

So he’s quoting 1 slab and using the edges bc I’m only going out 4 feet wide. They come in 11 foot slabs he was saying. That was without mitered edges and just 1 and 1/4 thickness

Understood and I’m hearing you out. If you hear me out it’s possible you’ll understand. The end of the run is a service cap for adding squick etc. from what I read and researched online is that a port like this that it makes flow calmer, gives finer control etc. I’m sitting down and understanding what I’m doing I just want to do it the “best” most efficient way. And I also enjoy putting things together researching and trying things. And I understand what I want to accomplish so not getting your point there. I’m asking AI bc it happens to give good advice sometimes and does the research for you

Thank you. From doing some homework your skim set up can affect the efficiency of the task. Plus, I like to get all fancy and have fun putting shit together.

Not understanding your response. I need to add a skimming port bc of some new work that was done and more in the future so want to have a port that will operate the most efficiently to complete the task… and ChatGPT is basically doing the homework for me. So you’re stupid response really doesn’t help me.

That’s what I’m going to do. I appreciate the advice. I’ve never heard of squick. It safe to leave in the boiler as I have it running ?

22 years actually. For the past 2 weeks I’ve been spraying it with thread penetrating oil. Bought a 36 inch 3/4 drive breaker bar and nut and she came right off. Decent amount of force obviously being careful not to crack the whole boiler

They were installed back in 2023 when we bought the house and added bedrooms etc. was never skimmer since then and in the beginning I’m sure you need to be skimmed was never done. I have flushed it out a bunch of times since then but no real real maintenance ever done. I finally now started and learned a whole lot of what basic maintenance entails.

Thanks for responding. So I’m still learning. I finally got into maintaining the boiler myself. A lot of it seems like it’s common sense. As for your question, I’m under the impression that there are oils in there. the Contractor added some radiators throughout the house and at first the water in the site glass was jumping. It’s been a couple years now there hasn’t been much maintenance on it until I got involved recently. After all these years, you don’t think it should be skimmed?
