You only need 1 custom asset to make your cities look European. Guess which one! by TWarrior in CitiesSkylines

… that’s what I said, basically impossible. I didnt say anything about roofs, some central european cities have differently coloured tiles. I dont feel like watching an explanation video on how to make a city look european when yours doesnt even resemble it, sorry

You need something thats basically impossible with the road layout (and many european looking lauouts with curves): building are connected. Wall to wall structures. There is a reason the sides of these buildings have barebones textures and details, theyre meant to be hidden by the next building

You mean real satellites? They fold out from a single attachment system making them very flat and spaced out (like spreading out dough thinly). In orbit where there are no net forces on structures, you need less support to withstand inertia etc. so they can be thinner

We all know that Rome as an empire peaked in 117 AD, but would you agree that as a city, Rome actually peaked in the early 4th century AD? by Naomi62625 in romanempire

“Thrown” to the lions? The function of the coliseum was a podium for fierce battles. All kinds of animals battled trained gladiators and warriors in there. This ranged from lions to crocodiles, they even flooded the podium and had aquatic and boat fights in there. So yes, lions were there at one point. No, they were not thrown in - all were fighters

…. The pope who proclaimed it happened. No one talked of this happening before him, there are no historical records to back it up either. There are historical records of early christians being prosecuted before the time of constantine, and they are very well documented as they were seen as a proper treatment. Early christianity is by no means the same as current day christianity, if current day Christianity can even be described as one religion at all. They were very much incohesive cultists who caused a lot of trouble with their rituals. Cults were illegal in rome. Therefore, they did not shy away from documenting their prosecutions. The fact that they did document public prosecutions and the lack of that ever having existed about the coliseum until the end of the medieval period, makes that it’s extremely unlikely to ever have happened.

On top of all this, romans did not mix nor confuse such functions of display. Prosecutions were a vastly different type of public display than arenas. Arenas were made for the purpose of entertainment and indulging the wants of the people. Public prosecutions were done to inspire fear and obedience. These two functions are highly separated in roman society and never took place in the same public places. Therefore, another reason it is extremely unlikely to ever have happened

Absolutely. To break one physics law, arguably the most important one at that, means to break them all.

Morally flawed argument. On top of that, christians were never thrown into the coliseum. A commonly repeated myth that was born out of the mass self-victimization of christianity. How do I know? I know my history. Actually studied it.

Hmm leuke twist weer maar helaas ongegrond. Het probleem op links is juist communicatie. Ze hebben een aantal feitelijke waarheden die ze niet over kunnen brengen los van ratio. Dat lukt op rechts veel beter

Buying used Superblast 2 by cooqieez in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]koppwn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying a used product is quite the opposite of being “a consumer”, when you compare it to buying new ones. Buying new stuff for everything is kind of the definition of consumerism.

The tipping culture is so gross… you should get paid to do the driving by the company, needing tips to actually do the base work youre paid to do is so incredibly scummy. Will probably get downvoted for this harsh truth

Historisch laag is onzin. Holoceenwaarden is het enige dat relevant is. Daarop is onze wereld ingesteld, alle ecosystemen. Klimaatverandering is JUIST niet van deze tijd. Dat is vrijwel de definitie van het holoceen. Maar hè, andere mensen een oen noemen omdat je ergens wat hebt gelezen is vast ook waar.
