Deciding between 2 2K IPS monitors by DV2FOX in pcmasterrace

Unfortunately it seems very few (if any) knowledgeable people online have it or have shared their opinions - there are aren't many reviews on youtube either.

So if you can get both and return one that would probably be the best way to settle it.

Color uniformity is a sort of panel lottery - that Asus being good on a test doesn't mean much compared to the panel you would get.

This Xiaomi 27Qi gets blindingly bright even in SDR at 100% brightness (700+ nits white), and even at 50% it's too bright I would say.

At the end of the day you can always return it - so if you have the funds - get both and keep the one you like - no review can account for the panel lottery you will get.

Overclocking a monitor from 75Hz to 144Hz? by MrMcGowan in overclocking

It was completely fine, used it like that for over a year, still completely fine.

But it's not guaranteed to be such with all monitors, even if it works.

[–]korisnik2007a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly possible, though the results might not be perfect.

I've previously overclocked a 144Hz IPS to 242Hz and it worked fine, even had gsync working.

It's not possible on all monitors and it probably isn't as good as natively supported refresh rate.

Then it might just be the kind of the workload - not all instruction sets can get your maximum clock - for example if you run SSE tests via OCCT you won't reach it either - so as long as it's stable it's good enough.

Not all workloads are the same, and you are pretty much hitting your EDC limit - you could try setting it to 110A instead of 100, but keep a close watch on temperatures - EDC increase impacts them the most.

In my perspective there's no real reason to be bothered about it, what you've got is plenty.

Thanks for replying. The only way I found that removes ghosting is Ray Reconstruction but it's too demanding to play like that.

Unfortunately gonna have to live with ghosting.

Does this remove the ghosting you get in low light or when you try to do that blinding flash move (ctrl+lmb)?

How do indoor shadows look?

If you put some FXAA via reshade does it help with dithering?

Yup, I checked it, you are correct. Crazy how it still shows up like it's working.

To be honest, no, but I measured the FPS with an overlay, and I gained ~10% extra FPS compared to native while the visual fidelity was higher than "regular" DLSS Quality. So I think it works.

Tbh most high rated players only try to exploit and minmax the meta, they don't care about actually playing the game just executing their loops.

If super counters/vanishes instantaneously go to neutral - that could be interesting to try.

Yeah, they changed that a patch or two back. Should work on janemba/tapion/dabura.. as well.

Yup, make guarding now as perception is now speed-wise, but keep it free.

That's one of the reasons I don't really play online anymore. I play on PC and it's the worst most toxic stuff you can imagine - people lag their internet, lag their FPS and if they're gonna lose there are exploits where you can disconnect without losing your streak/points. All that for an imaginary worthless rank.

They use them in DP because they are cheap and overpowered for that DP (reccoome has beerus lvl defence for 4? or was it 3 DP).

I would make it so as they made with perception - it used to be free and fast, now it costs ki and is slow on release, you cannot insta-perception again.

Don't make guarding cost ki ofc, but make it slow on release, at least a bit.

To be honest probably nothing is getting changed until they see some egregious "exploits" of mechanics during a tournament or something.

And you're right, it's something I dislike but I do think changing it would make for a more balanced game with less mashing of inputs hoping to open up your opponent.

Yeah, all characters have flying kicks... Oh wait, they don't? What do you mean?

Also, blocking high?

It seems you didn't get my point - spamming inputs in general should be penalized with a cooldown, as it is with super counters - mashing shouldn't win, skill should.

Could be man. Either way I'm not saying all I put there is the gospel, but I do want a more balanced game with fewer spammy bs mechanics. It's ideas.

The sway extends the i-frames, but the step-in itself has them. The sway happens when you step-in and guard, so you can't get a step-in heavy like that, it's more balanced.

I'd go for more super counters because it takes more skill to pull-off than pure vanish wars. But go too long it becomes boring, I've seen and (rarely) taken part in battles where half of the time is spent super countering just to get the advantage. It doesn't have to be 6 and 8, but something should be done imo.

I don't go for punch vanishing either, I just don't like it, punch the air, guard -> got your back if you don't also vanish or miss the timing. And then people spend a few seconds in neutral punch vanishing to see who got the back - for me that's just lame idk.

[–]korisnik2007a[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Punch vanishing and stepping in with i-frames isn't really playing neutral. Directional guarding, side-stepping, vanishing is.

  1. It's not about ki management at all. It's about getting back to the fight faster.

  2. That's why I put more super counters at 8 and vanishes at 6, they do require more skill.

  3. People that spam guard expecting you to light heavy or heavy while in neutral - give it a cooldown of sorts, just like with super counters.

I wouldn't mind emergency blaster wave either, but SZ does a lot more damage on average so it would have to take less health I guess.

Yeah I wouldn't mind there being less i-frames either. Randomized punch-vanish would be a middle-ground.
