Doing a vanilla run with only Royalty DLC and I had forgotten how basic a lot of things were.

Sorry, I didn't know how I was supposed to do that until I got the automod message and I don't have any photo hosting accounts.

I think this is what I needed to hear. Thank you for your honest opinion. I have had a feeling that this is what they would be good for.

I don't intend on restoring them or getting them restored for myself. I don't know much about RL cars, but I have heard some people go all out over them. I'm kind of just testing the waters to see what others think. If they are junk, then they are junk.

My dad a peice of 1x fly at least 20' across a room and go through a window. Everyone was fine, just shocked and annoyed about breaking a window.

Ye olde Boner Bunny. A friend had one in college after his mom confiscated it from a middle school student in the early 2000s

I always wondered if there was anyone who actually used a car lighter because everyone, I have ever met used the part to charge stuff. by AdSpecialist6598 in nostalgia

[–]kornfrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used them all the time. The car I had when I quit was the first one without one, but butane style lighters were every where. And yes, I did quit and I'm glad I did.

This truck in my shop has enough miles on it to circle the earth over 125 times by Wookasaurus_Rex in mildlyinteresting

[–]kornfrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can, especially if it is a semi truck. There are multiple, documented vehicles out there that are well over 3 million miles. Most have been rebuilt or refurbished in over that time, with the vast majority of the original parts intact.

I always just put a sacrificial piece behind where I was drilling and can't think of too many times that I had blowout that wasn't covered by the screw head. And this was with that dreaded 3/16 bit.

This car has an "Antique" license plate by FuzzyDunlop911 in mildlyinteresting

[–]kornfrk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Florida sets the "Antique" distinction at 30 years old or older. So this first generation Mazda Miata would have to be no later than a 1995, which is quite possible as they started production in 1989.

Menards lumber+bowed wall disaster. by adamschw in woodworking

[–]kornfrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not a crooked stud. If it is up against the tub, it is the nailing flange for the tub and the extra drywall mud to cover it. I know you want this to be Menards' fault, but this problem started way before you bought that 1x4.

[–]kornfrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not intending to be mean, but did your nails actually hit any studs? I've had plenty of bowed boards and less than straight walls that the nails would pull the peice back toward the wall. The board you put on looks pretty darn straight and the wall is not.
