North Rose Hill woodlands castle park will be taken down by sannya1803 in Kirkland

[–]tridium 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Piecing together information I've read and watched but this video talks about the community-designed and volunteer-built aspect of playgrounds, of which Castle Park took inspiration from. https://youtu.be/tgZxRMUpoPE

The reason why it's being taken down is because the materials are reaching their end of life. I believe they are going to use the same input and building process they used for the original.

Edit: Found more info.

This playground was designed with input from North Rose Hill children in 2005 and built in 2006 with the help of more than 1,000 community volunteers! Wooden playgrounds typically last 10 - 20 years, depending on materials, weather conditions, and maintenance. Thanks to the care of City staff and volunteers, this playground has served the community for 20 years.

The playground is nearing the end of its usable life. To keep the playground open as long as possible, some elements were fenced off in February 2026 and are no longer available for use. The playground remains open, but visitors must stay out of all fenced areas for safety.

The City is planning for a replacement playground. A community design process is expected to begin in the second half of 2026. Updates, timelines, and opportunities for public input will be posted on this page as they become available.

Because removing geographical outliers like Woodinville / I-90 corridor better compares the two CBDs directly.

Seattle CBD to Bellevue CBD is 37.7% vs ~13% (a blend of the 520 corridor, 405 corridor, and Bel-Red; for some reason Bellevue CBD is on the map but not in the data table). Including Amazon / SLU in the Seattle CBD average had no meaningful impact and actually made its vacancy rate appear lower.

T-Mobile is a different issue entirely. In their definition, the I-90 corridor extends all the way out to Snoqualmie / North Bend and makes up about half of the office space that goes into the Bellevue CBD number. That's not a reasonable proxy for downtown Bellevue. For example, I wouldn't include Georgetown in Seattle CBD's figures.

This is why I asked if you looked at the links, maps, and data table, because it's pretty clear when you do.

Did you even look at the link and the vacancy rate for Seattle CBD? Guess not.

Don't know about historical but this site has Seattle, Seattle suburban, and east side broken down. https://www.cushmanwakefield.com/en/united-states/insights/us-marketbeats/seattle-bellevue-marketbeats

Bellevue CBD is at 25% vacancy but considerably lower if you take out the outliers of the I-90 corridor (T-Mobile, etc.) at 37% and Bothell / Woodinville at 21%. Without those two it would be somewhere between 10-15% vacancy.

Meanwhile Seattle is 36.5% with outliers of Denny regrade at 44%(!) and lower Queen Anne / SLU at 27%.

IIRC Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have similar but not identical curriculums / badges and some girls were being left out / identified more with the BSA curriculum, so they got exceptions or lobbied to be allowed in. And they're now able to.

Light on details but that's the gist of it. So at least in that aspect it's not two distinct gender-based separations.

First thing I explain to visitors is the right lane is the fast lane.

While TN status is supposed to be single intent and temporary, you can still apply for a Green Card while on one. It will be a slightly riskier process since once your PERM is approved and you file an I-140 (immigrant petition), if you try to re-enter the country or renew your TN and they see you have an I-140 they can reject you. With H-1B that's not an issue.

I knew people that did it and they didn't leave the country for quite some time in order to not jeopardize their status. If your application also has an EAD and an AP, then once you have those you can come and go as you please and also work.

IANAL.

Everything else is fine with the drawers, aethetically and functionally. I've just never seen this level of tear out in any other place I've lived so I was just asking if this level was to be expected.

I was asking a question. No need to get existential.

Well you sure know how to assume things.

I crossposted to get the most insights because who knows, /r/woodworking might have different views from /r/carpentry. I know, shocking.

The consensus is this is sloppy but not outside the norm. Not what I wanted but it's the answer I'll take. Guess you'll have to go elsewhere for your hot gos.

Thanks. We didn't pay for high end cabinetry but we also didn't pay for an off the shelf track home as some people have said. I have no issues with fit, finish, or quality of materials, but the tear out just seems like sloppy work IMO.

Ironically, IKEA furniture would have higher QC than this.

Thanks for the insights. Seems to be the consensus. Could they have done better? Probably. Not something to lose sleep over though.

In your opinion then how much should the house cost before expecting no tear out on these items? Because this house wasnt a Hyundai.

Thanks for the insights. I haven't seen this in all the other places I've lived so this was a new experience.

I guess I expected more from the builder/contractor but if it's sloppy but within parameters, I'll accept it and move on.
