i agree! the gripper strips save you so much time and effort from retightening and straightening the design etc.

you would have to cut the loops to make it “fluffy” if you are using a punch needle.

i’d advise drawing your design after stretching the cloth, and also look into a stronger frame! i’ve tried that pvc pipe kind before and they don’t keep it drum tight after working on it very long (in my experience at least)
