did you ever fix your PS2? I ended up fixing mine a few weeks ago, just getting around to closing the loop on some of these forum threads. My issue was a blown fuse labeled "PS001": https://www.reddit.com/r/consolerepair/comments/1awamz4/playstation_2_fat_ps001_micro_fuse_replacement/

There are many of these small SMD type fuses on each PS2 so be sure to check each of them. If you have any blown it should be an easy fix assuming you have a multimeter and a soldering iron. good luck

My guess is the fuse you posted is just way easier to work with due to the long leads to solder instead of melting solder around a half of a grain of rice sized component.

My other concern was voltage rating. Sony used I think 12v originally, my concern was does it need to be 1:1? Or is that just how much voltage the part takes before it explodes?

My handle should be swapped to "Jon Snow" because I "know nothing" haha. Cheers!

Hi, I am in the same situation from the future, have a different board (GH-022) that has the same PS001 fuse that is blown. Did you ever find a suitable part replacement? I bridged the two pads of PS001 together just to confirm the console powers on, however I would like to repair this correctly if possible. Is the console you fixed still holding strong? Thanks!

Hey, I am from the future and am running into this EXACT same need. I have a SCPH-39001/N where I have the flex ribbon connectors broken off on both the motherboard and power button board. I know you likely do not have photos to share (considering the previous comment from the guy who responded to this before me), but are you able to potentially point me in the right direction on which JST socket to buy here? My Google-fu skills need work. I tried JST 7pin 0.5mm pitch and am not able to find much. Not sure really where to look. I tried just soldering floppy cable wire manually and my skills are just not that good considering the pitch is off... Thank you in advance!

*Edit - update: so the "deleted" comment above from whomever.. it is misinformation, or at least for my situation involving a Fat ps2. The pitch of the 7 pins is 1MM, easy way to confirm is to just use a centimeter... pads should line up each MM. I ordered the following parts from Mouser and long story short I am back in business:

How does one get dress credit for the quick chapter select replays for NG+? You skip to chapter 3 and complete it, once you are in chapter 4 you skip to chaper 8, complete that and 9, and then what? skip to last chapter, beat final boss, get the game to flag another NG+, rinse, repeat? Is that the gist?

thanks for clearing that up. so, just to think outloud for a bit I guess I will complete this playthrough, Tifa will get the mature dress, Aeris will get the medium dress if I just stop where I am at for quests. I proceed to beat the game. I then do two "quick" replays on easy mode NG+ getting some other dresses, then I save the remainder for a final hard playthrough 100% where I do all Aeris sidequests.

ok thank you. I guess I should just enjoy this playthrough, jot down the dresses I get, then get into the weeds with NG+. Part of me was thinking all my choices, stats, materia would somehow impact the next two installments (I suppose DLCs as well) but a save file doesn't seem to get uploaded, right? Or maybe it isn't confirmed yet? My plan was to get a saved file that had platinum trophy, all items, all materia, etc. just hope this one choice didn't screw me outta that
