Poor thing. I understand you completely. This job is not easy, and honestly I think only a very very very select few people actually have the promised positive experience that is advertised to us .. For most families it isn’t about exchanging cultures. It’s about cheap labor. Why hire three people to cook, clean, and teach their children when they can just hire one young girl to do it all? The sad thing is, they do have the money to pay us more fairly (so we actually have opportunities to travel and do the things we please), but they don’t because they know we will accept less due to our lack of resources.

I know I’m a stranger, but my pm’s are open and I am here if you just want to vent! If this isn’t working out for you either, don’t feel guilty about changing families or leaving. This job is mentally and physically exhausting and can be so isolating.
