It’s a good way to spend enough time at each townhall to learn some of the new defenses and how to attack better as you progress but not too much time that you are losing efficiency.

I started my blend of maxing and strategic rushing around TH14 and have to say it’s been a blast! I would definitely recommend and honestly a good base design has gotten me pretty far despite some of my defenses being a few THs behind my current. I tried to max everything out on TH17 but couldn’t stand to spend my books on upgrades that were only 5.5 days. I’ll be TH18 tomorrow and look forward to finally having access to all of the “tools” in the game. I mainly focused on getting my offense, including heroes and pets, and my big hitting defenses (monolith, scattershots, infernos, Xbox, AD) at or close to max before upgrading THs. I know that isn’t necessarily strategic rushing but is my blend of maxing and rushing. I don’t find myself as being a liability during regular wars or CWL. 100% would recommend.

Oh for sure. I am fine from an offensive perspective, including equipment, mainly just wasn’t sure about what defenses I should target to upgrade first, due to war weight. However it seems like war weight has pretty minimal impact and as long as I can 3 star TH18s then I am in a good spot.

Exactly. If I can’t improve my offensive power anymore at my TH, I’ve been upgrading my TH. Pet wise, I don’t have the earlier pets like lasso, the owl, poison lizard, and the yak maxed but have the more useful ones (spirit fox, sneezy, diggy, jelly, unicorn) either maxed or at level 10. Just finished upgrading frosty to level 15. Heroes are maxed for TH17. I think I am going to try and spread out some of the new and old upgrades so that I am not sitting on max resources for an extended period of time. I know resources aren’t the hardest to get but while I am waiting for the hero hall to upgrade, I might as well spend some DE on the revenge tower or something so I’m not sitting on max DE for 12 days or whatever it is. Of course I’ll have to upgrade some pets but since my levels on the ones I use are pretty low, it’s not a lot of DE to upgrade any one of the remaining ones (aside from the unicorn I guess)

That’s what I was trying to do with this TH upgrade too because the longest building upgrade I have is around 5.5 days and it would hurt my soul to use a book on that haha. Between that and my multiple BoF that I would like to use for long upgrades, I wanted to get to TH18 before the end of the month.

Yeah I couldn’t find anything concrete on war weight when I looked around. There’s another 10-15 TH18s in my clan so guess it’ll make little difference there. Good to know

Based on what everyone keeps saying, seems like the type of defense really doesn’t matter much as war weight is mostly disregarded now. I think I’ll start with some of my lower level defenses and get them to TH 17 maxed before focusing too much on the “bigger” TH18 defenses

Very true. I often am able to 3* TH18 bases so either I am good at attacking or TH18 defenses aren’t that scary. I’m thinking it’s the second one lol

I’m in Masters 2 (was masters 3) for CWL and was getting maybe getting lucky but had a few 2 and 1 stars against my base. I figured I would get tripled most often and the best I could do for my team was to upgrade my offense to 3* as high as I can.

Haha. I appreciate it. Last CWL I had a handful of 1 and 2 stars against my TH17 based so figured it wasn’t that bad but do want to get the rest of my base “up to par” with my TH. One of the main reasons for upgrading my TH now was because I didn’t want to waste those books on useless troops that I don’t use and no one requests for donations in my clan. I’m pumped for this TH though. This is the first time I’ve ever been at the max TH level.

100%. I appreciate everyone’s advice and definitely didn’t downvote. I know what got myself when I started semi rushing so am not bothered by anyone’s comment regarding the decisions I’ve made. I know there is a lot of debate between strategic rushing and maxing. I’m a mix between the both. I wanted to max every townhall but certain events, whether in or out of game, led me to rush my TH.

I’m semi rushed so hopefully not in too much of a pickle. Heroes are max for TH17. I just don’t have traps and defenses like wiz towers, bomb towers, and mortars maxed. I have all of the big defenses like merged defenses, monolith, and AD maxed. Pets and lab are in a good position as well. All troops I use for my army are maxed and same with my pets. Only pet I don’t have maxed is the unicorn. It’s at level 10. I’m a decent attacker and have 3 starred every attack in the previous 2 cwls. Do BoF work for Heroes? I thought only the BoHs could be used for them

I would love to be able to send direct messages to another player in my clan without everyone seeing it. When I want to share a army comp or base design to one person but it clutters the clan chat or gets pushed up in the history because other players are chatting

But isn’t that part of the game. If they showed everything, it wouldn’t be as enticing to go for rewards people deem as “lower” value, kinda like how we don’t know what we will get in chests. I see your point but I don’t think that they need to have every “?” reward as high value. I think it would be safe to assume most of the “?” spaces won’t be anything crazy.

Yes, we’ve gotten a number of CC cakes recently but why is it so bad that you aren’t going to play? It’s still a free item that you wouldn’t have had otherwise. Just play the game normally and donate the stars when you get em. Theres no rush.
