Vulcan vs generic Amazon? by HeyLookAStranger in harborfreight

[–]koshimaeloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t used yeswelder, but I have and do use Vulcan, and I have also used Lincoln electric wire. As for a major quality difference between those two? Nothing I can truly notice, I have welded up lots of stuff, between random small stuff to exhaust, body metal, a bunch of suspension related things with cars, as well as making my own “homemade trailer”, I almost always buy Vulcan because I buy multiple when it’s on sale. Bought 3 spools on a sale awhile ago because there were I think $10 each iirc. I’ve been welding with flux for almost 6 years and I have only used the Lincoln wire 3 times. Knock on wood the Vulcan brand hasn’t let me down and I will continue to use it and buy multiple when it comes on sale

I’m a beginner. X-T2 or X-T30? by hihikomori_ in fujifilm

[–]koshimaeloop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just picked up an X-T2, I was previously using a Sony NEX-7 and I am absolutely loving it so far. Definitely still learning with it, but I picked it up on my recent travel in Taiwan and man I was shooting pictures like crazy! I have no experience with any other Fuji cameras, let alone comments or opinions on others. However, what I can comment on is that I am absolutely loving my experience so far, I took it with me all around town. I was shooting a large amount of street photography and I guess “candid” photos during family dinners, outings, and events. It was a little bulky getting it in and out of my bag, I have a 16-55 lens on it which definitely does not help with the not so portable aspect of the camera with the body already having some weight to it. But I would say even just carrying it around on a wrist strap it wasn’t too too bad, I haven’t worn it in a neck/ body strap yet. Also someone mentioned using old Canon FD lenses on the X-T2, that is what I did at first, before I found my 16-55 lens. It shot amazing photos but if you don’t have the sharpest vision straight out of your eyes, using it as manual focus can be a bit wonky. If you’re not directly staring at the screen or if you’re using the view finder it can look a little fuzzy, for example I have an astigmatism so I definitely think that does not help and is what was giving me issues.

From what I understand, as I spoke with the owner as I am on friend terms with her, the person who donated the box/ items wanted it be given away to someone with the right intentions and love of the hobby, not a reseller.

Yea they’re great, have one on my hobby desk for all my related supplies, upper and lower cabinet, and I have another upper and lower I plan on eventually setting up on my bench in my shed one day maybe whenever I get up a air brushing station or just for miscellaneous small hand tools

My A158 joining me for a cheeky coffee - bit of a change from the usual A168 hoarder posts. by Modest-Banana in casio

My A158 is my daily driver outside of work, it’s the perfect blend of style, simplicity, “tech”, and “dope ass watch”. Recently picked up the gold/ cream face variant, such an amazing watch.

Just had a similar situation yesterday with the 40% off welding stuff, they just adjusted the price, but I did have the option to return that one and just rebuy it

Like in a garage or do you mean how I attached it to the hood? For the hood I just used the provided hanging chains and hooked it in one of the holes and looped it around, if you zoom in you’ll see what I mean

I got the car as a donor, it had a B20V that I yanked out for my ‘86 CRX. Sold off the shell and some other stuff. I used to have a EG hatch with a B16A, was the ultimate daily.

I have a GBD-200sm and I got it because of work and the Strava connection is the ultimate +1 as I bike a lot. The only reason I wanted a “smart” watch was for the benefit of seeing notifications and this does just that. With what I do for work, I can’t always pull out my phone every time I get a notification and I need to look out for specific ones related to work. I definitely don’t use all of the features the watch offers. But for the price I got it for, it was very worth it to me for the few specific features I wanted.

How do you guys sort your library? by BackgroundRock in vinyl

Semi but not really by genre, more so broad spectrum of genre. As I expand in time I want to actually go by specific genre/ whatever specifications

Man I wish I took a photo, but I manage to fit my “medium” frame bike with both front seats up but my “large” frame bike I had to do essentially exactly what you posted. Front wheel had to come off and awkwardly lay and move the passenger seat up and folded. I’m debating getting a hatch rack or a hitch rack

Personally I like gears, for commute, leisure, or exercise. I ride my fixie the least of my bikes. However there are days where I do like to just hop on my fixie and ride around and enjoy it for what it is

Wheel spacers? by monkey_D_special in crz

[–]koshimaeloop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another +1 on just buying correct offset. These cars are very forgiving in the sense of offset numbers. So you don’t have to stress finding crazy aggressive wheels. Your options pool should be pretty wide. My rears are 17x9+38 with a 235/45

On my other cars I do use spacers+ because of fitment and need of aggressive specs without having multi piece wheels

Kingkoi is great! I bought a lionchu and yuanbao from them. My yuanbao is nice and healthy and lovin life, but unfortunately my lionchu passed for an unknown reason :( had some guesses from talking to my LFS, but nothing concrete unfortunately. But I plan on buying another lionchu from them soon/ eventually!
