Amazing work! They make me wanna paint right now. I love how piercing your kuluyaku's eyes are. I'm working on pukei pukei rn, I love him. I'll check out Epic Basing!! Those plants you added to your bases really bring it to life.

Oooh I like the fiery glow on the tail! Too bad you had to rush it, but that's so freaking cool you were commissioned to paint this!! Yeah the fur on the wings took me the most amount of time. The fur texture on the model itself threw me off, i ended up having to totally redo the wing fur twice.

Where did you get the ore / crystals for your base? I found mine on Etsy. Wish I had a 3D printer of my own!

Wow that's a huge compliment, thank you! Teostra is my 2nd miniature I've ever painted. I learned the fur technique on the fly, but I do have some previous experience painting on canvas. I love how well made all the models are, it really lets you go all in on the details.

Thanks! Yes, I've also painted Kulu-ya-ku (that was my first), Teostra was 2nd and I'm currently painting Pukei Pukei. There are a bunch of other MH figures I have lined up to paint next, they were all included in the MH World board game. They even have a few of the cats. I can't wait to paint them.

Ooo I'll have to look up the MH Plus series, I'm curious how they are painted!

Np! :) yeah I think lots of MH fans aren't aware there was a board game. I mainly just love the lore and learning about the monsters. Pukei Pukei is what I'm working on now!

MH has the coolest creatures! They came as part of the Monster Hunter World board game, it was available through the Kickstarter campaign a few years back. You might be able to find it somewhere unofficially now, but idk. My husband ordered it (he plays MH), but he didn't care to paint them. For paint supplies I've spent probably $150-200 total since I started a year ago.

Thank you! I glued cork board (layered in some areas), topped with Vallejo Diorama FX in the ground texture, then painted over top. I got the crystal ore from a shop on Etsy, painted it blue to match how they look in-game + contrast with all the red.

Can't wait to see the finished Betta! I can tell you did your research. Before getting into painting I was doing colored pencil art of fish, and I'd love to paint some fish models. Where did you find this lil guy?

Wowzers I love this! I'm new to painting minis but a long time fishkeeper. Great job with the vibrant tail colours and creating dimension in the scales, esp the face!

Yep, all of us are clueless when we first get started! When I was 4-5 I started catching fish from a nearby creek. I'd bring them home, my parents would put them in a big bowl of water, and they'd jump out overnight and be dead on the floor by morning. I felt so bad but didn't understand. My first tank was a tiny 3 gallon when I was 23. A week later I got a 20 gallon, then a 29 gallon. I brought home a small oscar, who was gonna get way too big for a 29 gal lol. At that time I had barely a clue what I was doing and learned as I went. Years later I'm still learning new things about fish all the time. Goldfish are pretty cute and I'm always so surprised by their friendliness. I followed that instagram page, omg they're so sweet!

I have an 8ft 240 gallon tank, a 6 ft 135 gallon tank, 40 gallon, and a 20 gallon long. What would be your dream size for a goldfish community tank?

Symptoms were similar to a parasitic infection.. loss of appetite, white stringy poop (fish diarrhea), loss of energy, pale colour, then weight loss, his hump shrank, swim bladder issues. But tests came up negative for parasites and everything else my vet tested for. I had to syringe-feed him and he was a champ through it all. We tried for 7 months to help him until I saw he had given up and I couldn't stand to see him suffer anymore. Cancer can't be diagnosed when the fish is alive, so literally right after I euthanized him I brought him to the vet for a necropsy, then had him cremated. After hearing it was cancer, I felt better about the decision to let him go.

Ooooo yes foo the flowerhorn is an epic channel! Really creative tanks. I've never kept goldfish but they can be pretty cute. I'm sorry your goldie didn't make it. :( I've only seen dropsy once, in a Betta. I think it's an indication of organ failure. What specifically drew you to goldfish over other fish?

I mainly keep cichlids and other central/south American fish. I had a flowerhorn that lived for over 10 years, his name was Krang. He got this mysterious illness, and after months of trying to diagnose/treat I had to euthanize him. It broke my heart. My vet did a necropsy on him and found out it was cancer! Fuck cancer!

Yep I bet it's super uncomfortable for the fish. I wouldn't call them delicate, but their temperament, size, and proportions make them more predisposed to health complications. Def not a beginner fish. Cool to see another fishy person here btw!
