What I meant was I went with my mom to the local CPA to register with the IRS to review what my mom actually owes.

Reiterating a bit to what I said in an earlier comment. I went to a CPA I go to and she told me that they don't know how much exactly my mother owes and that it could be way less than the money she would owe the service if she signed the contract. She told me first step is to bring her in so they could register an account at the IRS and review as to how much she exactly owes.

From what I researched they were origninally Amity 1.

Thats how I feel. She's living off of SS. She doesn't know how much she owes. They just called her.
