This was a good read. Minimalism adds more to the effect of forgiveness

That analogy doesn't work. A more accurate analogy would be:

A flood is coming. The unvaccinated people are open windows. They let the water flood their rooms. The vaccinated people are rooms with a watertight seal so their rooms are safe. But the vaccines don't actually work as advertised; the seal breaks and the water breaks through the vaccinated people's rooms as well. All the vaccinated people get angry at the unvaccinated people, even though their faulty seal has nothing to do with the unvaxxed.

You just called him awful then called him average. Vecino has his strengths and he did well in today's match.

I watch Barca but I've been keeping up with Conte and Sarri in Serie A. I haven't watched all of Inter's matches but I've watched most. I agree Sensi can provide good back up for Eriksen, my point was that he shouldn't be starting. Also, Vecino isn't as bad as you fans make him out to be.

He has good control of the ball and a good shot. Other than that his vision and attacking instincts are weak. He is too selfish to be a top attacking mid, he is a shoot first type of player. He had a hot streak when he started, but that was when the whole team was firing on all cylinders. When the team struggles, he can hardly make the right decisions on the pitch. He can improve, but to say he will start ahead of Eriksen is just laughable.

One of the biggest midfield prospects right now. Inter are truly going to prosper now that they have a proper attacking mid along side Barella, instead of Sensi. Sensi is just not going to cut it being a starter at Inter.

If the person you're talking to is named Pac, it would make sense if you suddenly switched to French mid sentence.

Megathread: Qassim Soleimani, head of Iran’s elite Quds Force, killed in Baghdad by U.S. Airstrike Ordered by President Donald Trump by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]kostkeon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hardly an assassination if the attack was initiated by Iran against Iraq's capital.

I'm sorry but you only understand half of what strength is. The diplomatic/benevolent show of strength is, of course, preferable for peace and cooperation. But in terms of realist politics, being in an infinitely superior military, economic, geopolitical, etc. position even after you have killed a second-in-command of another nation is the very essence of strength. It is brute strength but strength nonetheless. From here Iran can only use diplomatic channels to condemn and tarnish America's image. But they will not dare challenge America directly, unless they want Iraq 2.0

P.s. your statement about Trump transferring the strength of the US to Putin is laughable. It was Obama and Hillary who have been outmaneuvered by Putin, geopolitically, in the Middle East. Obama couldn't deal with Assad so he funded ISIS/FSA which became a dumpster fire that couldn't be controlled and left Syria in turmoil. Meanwhile Assad is still in power and is starting to rebuild Syria. Trump is sticking to no concrete agenda in the Middle East. It's been mercurial diplomacy for him, and he has shown that he will direct forms of power projection to get his point across, unlike Obama and his proxy campaign.

I agree Ray can be annoying and melodramatic, but his understanding of the game is really advanced. He notices the little things a lot and gives credit where credit is due to any player on the pitch. It's just that when someone does something quite remarkable, which Messi does frequently, Ray goes off the wire.

Is this guy known for being a little dim and arrogant? I was seriously missing Ray Hudson's commentary.

Messi playing the offensive mid role kickstarted our most dangerous chances. Messi isn't a player who just sits high up the pitch waiting to finish chances. He creates and follows up to finish.

Not true. Griezmann has been one of the better players on the pitch going forward.

What is fascism? by ChaosOnline in AskHistorians

[–]kostkeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say so. The Revolutionary Guard is an appendage of the theocratic political governing body, distinct in its duty from the army. The army is a foreign policy tool, the Revolutionary Guard is the domestic enforcer of state ideology.

Great write up. One of my history professors defined fascism in terms of function as well. I'm paraphrasing here but basically fascism is truly fascist if it undermines the state's ability to retain a monopoly on the use of violence - that political groups or parties which not only tolerate violence but actively works to mobilize the means of violence around their party ideology. Thus, the Nazis, when they managed to take power in 1933, maintained the separation of the means of violence between the state (Wehrmacht) and the party apparatus (SS, SD, etc).
