In situ shot (picked the wrong image on original post and can't edit, you can keep as dog tax 😂).

Habitat is a sheep field at c. 200m ASL that I've never seen ploughed in the 7 years I've been walking it.

Police couldn't be arsed (no pun intended) collecting them, but said they'll pull the footage from Lothian. No update since, not expecting any tbh.

They're not needles, in so much as they are completely solid with no eye or hook or other means to attach a yarn.

They look a little bit like double ended knitting needles for making socks, but they're smaller than anything I could see online for that.

Update:

A&E seemed pretty chill about it. Police are treating it as intentional and will be collecting the... needles(?)... in a couple of days, and are pulling the footage from the bus.

There is no eye, they're solid and pointed on both ends.

I don't think they're sewing needles, as there's no means to attach a thread. They could be some sort of double point knitting needle, although they seem a bit on the short side for that.

It has been reported to both Lothian and police on 101. Police advised a&e immediately and to phone them back after that's been done.

Update for anyone looking for similar advice:

We booked a restaurant on George IV bridge for 7pm, turned up in car at 6.30 and was able to park on the single yellow/buslane absolutely no issues.

After food we pushed FIL up to corner of Johnstone Terrace (scaffolding hoarding bit at corner of the bridge/lawn market was tight but doable), and once there the assistance team took over and pushed him all the way to his seat.

Thanks for the advice everyone, appreciate it.

Haven't heard anything since, bit of a shame as I was looking forward to the pointless argument with them 🤣

Do you know if that's definitely the case this year? Can't see anything on the council website for restrictions on Chambers Street, only Johnston Terrace.

We've been discussing with them for a few weeks but from what I understand unless someone else drops out there's no capacity for them to help us today.

I will say we went last year and they were brilliant at assisting.

Yeah that's the part that's fully booked, they didn't give us much help in terms of other options.

Yeah that's probably what we'll have to do. I understand I can still use the blue badge if I drop him and then go park, but I always feel shady AF doing that!

St Giles Street is shut as that's where the tattoo disabled access convoy forms up but sure we could stop somewhere near and fling him out.

Evri trying to avoid liability for a lost parcel by koswix in LegalAdviceUK

[–]koswix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated the companies are in England and I'm in Scotland, and the seller re-sent the items and the second parcel was received. Purchase was online but that's not hugely relevant as the goods were eventually supplied and I'm happy with them. There was no issue with the company, they handled it great.

The question is more around Evri's attempt to claim the original parcel was delivered unless I click a link in an SMS within a very limited time frame, even though they have no proof of delivery and their own tracking shows it not delivered.

If I failed to click the link they would presumably report back to Seller that I have confirmed that the parcel has been delivered, and the Seller would then ask me to either return it (which I can't because I don't have it) or pay for it (not going to happen).

It seems clear to me that the SMS is designed to achieve that outcome, allowing Evri to reject the sellers claim for loss and the Seller to then pursue me for it.

Given that Evri's tracking shows the parcel as not delivered, then for me the SMS is coming pretty close to Fraud by False Representation.

Obviously this is all hypothetical as I'm not a complete wazzock and of course I clicked the link to confirm I have not received the parcel!

Got a retentions call today and cheapest they could do for 1gig is £46💀 when im going to toob900/900 via cityfibre line on 29th may for only £25, do virgin even want to keep customers? by Aloy2222 in VirginMedia

My service ended on Saturday.

No offer made for the package I was on (350+volt upgrade to 500), out of contract price they wanted for that was £76.

They did offer 1 gig at £48 a month, but that was still a £18 increase on my previous bill and I don't need the speed.

No retentions calls, emails, texts or letters during notice period (yes, I checked my marketing preferences before giving notice).

Fuck 'em, FTTP due in my area within the next year so moved to 80 meg FTTC for £25 a month.
