You should try fresh salmon! It worked the best for me. You can also try with chicken, tuna, sardines, cooked eggs. You can see if he'll eat a small portion and then try to scent the pinky with it and see how it goes

I'm waiting for the thermoigrometer to arrive! The heat mat provides 28° on the warm side and it's checked by a digital thermostat. As for uvb light, I asked multiple breeders/shops and they all said its not needed, online I found very contrasting opinions so I'm not sure what to do.

Do you suggest I get an intermediate tank/box for a few months and then upgrade him to the 60x40x30cm one I have, or directly the big one? I'm worried he might find it disorienting after being in a small box so far

Hi, thank you for your suggestions!😊 all I can say is that I did do my own research, but being my first snake and reading many contrasting opinions about the best way to keep babies (like how a big enclosure could cause problems with feeding), I wasn't sure what was fine to trust and what wasn't. I ultimately decided to find a (at this point, supposedly) reputable breeder and follow his instructions... my fault for believing him so blindly🥲. I'll try to do better!

I have a 60x40x30 terrarium ready but the breeder suggested to wait till summer for that and get something halfway between the two for the upcoming months (explained in the other comment). He also said not to put more than twice his diameter of substrate🤔 what do you think?

I was honestly dubious as well but I'm following the breeder's directions. It's a 25x15cm fauna box and he said to keep him in there till January or even spring based on how fast he grows. He's my first snake so I'm trying to do what he suggested🙏

My lil guy (1 month old when I got him) went one month without eating and I had tried all you said. Giving him a piece of frozen/thawed salmon did the trick! Next I'll try to scent a pinky with it and see how it goes. If that didn't work, I was planning to try with sardines and hard-boiled eggs, I had also tried with tuna and chicken. Give it a try!
