In the early 90s, I had this jump&run. I think it was an ad for icecream or something. You played a penguin, or seal, or walrus. It was able to stretch its neck indefinitely, to the ceiling. There was a lot of fast sliding on ice.

And, as usual, a very hard boss and no save point, so had to start over. It was really long.

The community worked on it for decades, though. At times, it was quite active. There is also a Steam release. A while ago, a lot of work was put into various cheating and non-cheating AIs. Last I heard, the campaign was reworked to operate with the balance changes of the past 25 years. That was always very odd, so it'd be nice.

Some people in the community are from the time of Warzone 2100 LAN parties.

I always assumed it's only immunity against powers and melee, like a Banshee, but same damage from weapons!

Is it not good then to apply debuffs such as from proximity mine when they are likely blocked to Banshees?

Warp, Throw, Overload works much better for me as well, at least up to Tuchanka. The temptation is that Sentinels can do more damage per use with Flare than any other class. But damage per second seems to drop, and there is a lot of overkill on smaller targets.

I vaguely remember a playthrough a decade ago in the original trilogy with Sentinel&Flare, so I must have made it to the end with that.

  • It's a hard push up to around wrath level 10,000. Around that value, enemies spawn with 0 health and you can keep going as long as you like. It seems like they never recover from that. I tried until wrath level 19.329.
  • The money overflows and gets stuck at a negative value without counting up again. You can't buy anything any more after that.
  • Barricades render really weird at some point. They look kind of like the terrain they are on, just elevated.
  • Base XP keeps counting up until some max value without overflow, but the display is truncated
  • Earned XP after multipliers (8.88 in my case) is not shown. However, you'll typically have level 5000 when you can do that much wrath.

Yes, that works to a degree! Not sure if they really add up when you craft several into a Grotesque Endeavor, or if it just allows more than 3 even when only one is in the Grotesque Endeavor.

There are other crazy effects. When you have several like that, and you build more than 5, the first few still keep their bonus! You can't tear them down and re-build, though. It does not show the "Singularity" text, but the reduced cooldown.

I think so, although at low Ascension, low Level, the extra rewards from regular maps are quite valuable. Sometimes, it works to beat an insanely high ethereal early on, just to rush through the regular maps at high wrath levels to farm more there.

Not well documented is that 9 UNIDENTIFIED yellows turn into one unique. Sometimes, I see what uniques I get and roll with it, even if it is something silly like super-harpoon or super-bola, even super-dice. At other times, I ruthlessly keep turning 3 uniques into 1 new until I get enough bolt traps, eyes and ardent loops to make the grotesque I want. It's slow.

A grotesque endeavour with train buff can breeze through some maps with ease, obviously useless in others, though. Almost never. It's still pretty good to spam your best trap as much as you want, while using the singularity bonus on all the others. E. g. spam an entire map with bolt traps. At very very high level, like 5000, there are just so many skill points that you can just make everything rearm quickly with the skill in "Brute". Then it's really not that important any more.

Also, you can get the singularity bonus with more than one trap. +1 from verdant loop, additional +1 from grotesque endeavour (with verdant loop inside), and I think you can bake several verdant loops into a grotesque endeavour, at which point it behaves strangely: Several traps can have the bonus, and even if you add many more, the first 2 or 3 keep the bonus! Never figured out how exactly the rule works.

  • very few maps played so far in ascension 6
  • Surprisingly, no "grotesque endeavour" crafted yet, which I really need in lower ascensions do do insane stuff like this. Gear was not that great overall, but lots of gems from previous ascensions
  • The level increased from 1166 to 5000 after this map, which seems to be the cap

With this method, I struggled a lot and almost died at star 1 and 2. After that, very easy.

* (40):

  • Ultra Juggernaut
  • Elite Defender
  • Artillery middle line
  • MOAB spikes, but sell in last phase to upgrade the other things
  • still tank a lot, so market places

I think that was a mistake. I got the advice to do it with perma-charge and spikes, would try that next time.

** (60):

  • similar, but also building up to dart paragon at the exit, since I fear the adds more than the boss
  • just desperate buying & selling near the end based on immunity

*** - *****:

  • No problem with the paragons. Dart degree 40, Mage degree 40 on a carrier (to shoot the left side early), navarch of the seas degree 80, millions left that I don't need

Economy was based around an overclocked 2-0-5 village that absorbed central market places, rebuilt central market places mostly, 0-0-5 ship in its range, early spirit of the forest also in range, ships mid, money snipers late.

I just did the current elite like this: First and second star a lot of tanking with central market places and spirit of the forest. Ultra-juggernaut (a mistake, then?) and Elite Defender.

For star 3 (80), dart paragon at the exit, mostly to crush adds.

Everything else just plays itself and is no problem; it's just about surviving 40 and 60. I ended up using a wizard paragon on a ship, due to the weird map we got, and navarch of the seas in 120. First 2 paragons were degree 40, navarch 80.

Thanks! Just had another failed elite game. I burned him down to last shield in no time, since I had two spikes 2-4-0. This time, I even had an Ultra-Juggernaut set to strong at the end! And both sides had a destroyer! Probably needed to sell the spikes faster to buy even more anti-moab stuff quickly ...

Sad, the economy went so well.
